Racism? Black leaders fret white person may take Jesse Jackson's House seat

“There’s a great deal of concern that Debbie Halvorson would win because the black vote would be split 18 ways,” Delmarrie Cobb, a longtime Democratic political consultant in Chicago said.
“The battle we have is that we can’t afford to lose a black voice in Congress,” she added. “It would be a terrible loss in many ways,” she added.
According to Politico, losing the seat to a white person, no matter how qualified, would "be a blow to the black establishment."

To change the system we have now, sections of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 have to be voted out.
Apportioning is done to keep districts in the hands of minority legislators, many who become corrupt because their seat is “guaranteed” and who go on to hire support staffs full of relatives and other cronies who accrue six-figure salaries and pensions courtesy of taxpayer funding.
That's not a response, as the corrupt Chicago machine that has an iron grip over Illinois government would relish the thought of being able to appoint whoever they wanted to the U.S. Senate. Might as well respond by telling them: "slave reparations and gay marriage is a great idea!"
What they are really fretting about is the slim chance that someone who can’t be corrupted by their mob will get the seat.
It is articles such as this that cause me to wonder if the only people in the United States of America that are still racist are Liberal Journalists and race-baiting Black politicians.
Maybe both groups are still stuck in the 1950’s?
