I reckon it is Paladin2. It’s nice for a change to be able to say I’m one of the 99% though. For that I thank you.
Liberals are the same way, they want to pull the ones being successful back into misery and squalor, rather than help each other out of it.
Aside from that, there is a heavy dose of 'grasshopper and ant' here, some prepare, and with a little luck they have what they need (it isn't destroyed by the events which make that necessary), the others who don't, don't.
But if you passed a law which said they all had to have some means to generate their own power, the liberals would be the first to scream...for someone else to take care of them.
I find it ironic that Kristoff is so steamed up about personal generators, when this same guy thought it cool if everyone made a power grid obselete by having solar panels. Just makes no sense. People having personal power is a good thing, right?
Leftists despise any sort of future orientation and resent anyone having anything that everyone else doesn't have. If they all can't have it, then no one should have it. So think leftists.
Remember that, those of you who are seriously into prepping.
I hate reality shows but would happily watch one where Kristof was put through the aggravate of suffering that would result if these generators were taken.
What a pathetic little twerp.
While searching for the article an any other reactions, I found that is is not the first time the NYT published such a piece. They ran one after the Oct 29, 2011 snowstorm that hit the Northeast.

As expected, the moonbat readers agree and believe that they are causing more global warming damage and must be heavily taxed and regulated (with exceptions of course)
“Fair” ????
We need to shine the light on this concept that it is somehow the job of the government to determine and manage “fairness” in our society.
They believe that nobody can argue against “fair”, or they’ll be labeled “racist”.
Let’s start by asserting that they’ve had the microphone or the power too long, so it’s only “fair” that they sit down and shut up!
Only rich people can afford generators, so it shouldn’t be legal to own a generator. Thus spake an idiot at the NY Times.
Just add the coming hyperinflation, and we’ll be another Zimbabwe. Which is Obama’s plan.
Your column has too much common sense. Until those who have wealth and/ or high income realize that it is in their interest to invest more of their money into the common good, then they will forever fight to keep every nickel that they make. Obama was correct is saying "You didn't build that". Government must invest in the economy so that the private sector can flourish. The captains of Industry probably know this fact but want to stuff money away and live their extravagant life styles in a bizarre game of entitlement. Just because you are smart or lucky or born on third base doesn't mean you neglect your responsibilities to the common good.
Which reminds me, I haven't stared my generator in awhile. Time to run it and "pollute" some more to piss off the NYT readers.
Well, if it works for generators the way it works with cell phones, you will pay a “universal generator tax” when you buy a generator, and the revenue will used to provide “free” generators to people on welfare. Tip ‘o the hat to Algore. I am sure the manufacturers of generators are dreaming of the day.
generators are not that expensive..you can buy a small one at Harborfreight likel for under $100...
I hike along the border areas of NY/NJ, where a lot of iron mining, forging and farming was done. Many of the present roads there were built during the New Deal; before that, those very same captains of industry built the roads, dams, and railways necessary to accomplish their goals.
They DID build that (with no government help at all); in fact there was almost no government to speak of. If you visit these areas today, they still have little government.
Exactly. In a storm like Sandy, the first things to get blown away are roof mounted solar panels. An emergency generator checked out in advance and fueled by a supply of gasoline is just the ticket. That storm was a surprise to nobody; it was tracked for more than a week in advance.
“Just because you are smart or lucky or born on third base doesn’t mean you neglect your responsibilities to the common good.”
At this point the whole thrust of the lib agenda is to destroy the advantage that comes from being born into a two-parent family with a strong work ethic and the minimum intelligence required to learn fluent English. In fact, they are driving such families to extinction with their policies (which is fine with them).
I got so steamed listening to Rush going on about this, I bought another 100 rounds of 00 for my 12 ga street sweeper.
It’s ultimately all about the hate and envy with Kristof.
Preppers’ PING!!
