So you’re trying to say that a child brought up by liberals in a liberal atmosphere won’t do stupid stuff without a second thought?
Yes, liberal parents do have a correlation with what their kids do.
Yes, Bon Jovi’s politics do play a role here.
The question is, how much of a role?

My solution for drug dealers is to make them eat any drugs found with them.

On the spot.

What’s to be shocked by?
That was the behavior exhibited by people at my daughetrs funeral.
Quite illustrative of the problem with society.

I also suspect that some people can’t stand that someone somewhere doesn’t like Bon Jovi because of his politics and correctly points out that his politics effects his parenting and thus the values his children grew up with.

People can be cruel, and for what? What was accomplished with post #37?

Bon Jovi is a very fortunate man. He has another chance to do the right thing. I hope he understands that and does something about his life, because the next time he may not be so lucky.

Isn’t this the Guy, Bon Jovi that STOLE some $15 Million Dollars from his OWN CHARITY for the POOR?? YES IT IS, and why were charges dropped against the junkie??? is this normal?? I dont think so. IT IS A FELONY and Prosecutors NEVER DISMISS FELONIES, WE need a Special Prosecutor to investigate this matter.

I have a little different perspective on this issue; I was at one time, the drug user and alcoholic. As a teenager, I came so close to dying that it still sends shudders.

But it was not the fault of my parents.

I had plenty of warnings and close calls, but I never thought anything bad would happen to me. When I ended up getting sent off to jail for an extended period of time, it ultimately saved my life.

That was twenty-five years ago, and still, I believe each day is a gift from God, and it is my duty to help those who struggle with the problem of addiction.

My message to those whose children did not survive their battle with drugs, I can tell you with absolute certainty, that they have not died in vain- their struggle and their sacrifice is an endless message to those who have survived that we can't let up on our battle against addiction for even one day.

Addiction is looked upon as a selfish indulgence, and I suppose it starts out that way; but it ends up in a loneliness that few ever know.

May God help all those who suffer it's clutches; and may He hold dear all those who have fought the demons with every ounce of their being.

Bon Jovi likely won’t change his ways.
He doesn’t see as there is anything wrong with liberalism.
He will fail to make the connection.
He will, in all likelyhood, blame others for the actions of his daughter.

He also seems to have pulled some strings to get the charges dropped against his daughter.
Because, surprise surprise, they were dropped.
That does not help her in any way shape or form.
As a parent, he should understand that actions have consequences.
And her actions require a penalty.
Shielding her from those consequences does not help her or her problem.
The fact that the charges wer dropped says quite a bit.

She’ll be in worse shape now than she ever was, and is now less likely to get the help and the learning experience she needs to change her ways.

And his politics play a large role in this line of action.

My kid wanted to be a physical therapist. I’d jokingly told her “Imformation Extraction Specialist/Interrogation Technician” was the proper job designation.

I once asked my physical therapist if he graduated from the Auschwitz School of Physical Therapy! ;^)

He laughed and then manipulated your kneecap afterwards I imagine?
*shudder*
They have a tough job, they have to get you to move more than you are, but not so much that you destroy yourself.
In the meantime, you’re in agony and willing to sell out your family and your business to get it to stop.

You're right. It's very unlikely that he will change. He's gotten a lot of publicity and approval for his liberal activities, from what I can tell in reading about him.

It's a rare 50 year old who is able to confront the fact that they have failed in what is their most important responsibility in life.

Exactly what I told my niece when she was about 15/16....”Do NOT date....until you are looking for a husband. Just have friends.” Whether she has followed that I do not know, but I do know she listened...

I sympathize with your situation. Adult Children can only be guided, not controlled.

Please forgive me for not sympathizing with someone who supports a Communist wannabe who wants to take away my freedom. Mr. Bon Jovi can burn in hell for all I care. Too bad his daughter had a Daddy with his own problems.

It is beyond being someone who disagrees with my Politics. It is about someone who is part of the Ruling Class along with his Butt Buddy Obama who is affecting how I and my Family live our lives. Nothing I do affects their lives.

Since another one of Obama’s sycophants Ken Burns just called me a Racist because I support the Tea Party, I have no obligation to give them a sip of water if they were dying of thirst. Screw them all, they are Traitors to our Nation and they deserve everything bad that comes their way.

Harsh, well too bad. We are being robbed of our God Given Freedoms a little bit every day, drip - drip - drip.
