Hurry up and wait.
Thats what first responders were left to do after being deployed by FEMA to assist in the storm-ravaged areas in the initial days after superstorm Sandy, FoxNews.com has learned. A FEMA worker who spoke to FoxNews.com described a chaotic scene at New Jersey's Fort Dix, where emergency workers arrived as the storm bore down on the Atlantic Coast. The worker said officials at the staging area were unprepared and told the incoming responders there was nothing for them to do for nearly four days.
They told us to hurry, hurry, hurry," the worker, who works at the agency's headquarters in Washington and volunteered to deploy for the storm recovery effort. "We rushed to Fort Dix, only to find out that our liaison didnt even know we were coming.
The regional coordinator even said to us, I dont know why you were rushed here because we dont need you,' said the worker, who spoke out of frustration with the lack of planning and coordination following the devastating storm.

Casualties resulting from natural disasters are viewed as resume enhancement by the current occupant(s) of the White House and Congress.
If you want all this to go away, don't make more than $250K per year and don't get damaged by a natural disaster.

FEMA was completely reformed after Katrina. Now FEMA needs to be completely reformed after Sandy. At some point you would think it would sink into the mush-filled skulls of the public that the FedMob can’t manage anything. It can’t.

It's called Federal Emergency MANAGEMENT not Federal Emergency SOLUTIONS.
They are there to manage the emergency not solve any problems.
To: Uncle Chip
They do seem to manage to make bad situations worse.

No pre-positioning of water and generators. No planning for probable gasoline shortages. Large-scale wasting of time and effort.
But it's common knowledge that FEMA is much-better run under Obama than Bush.
Hence the goal of the MSM to never report on these problems.

At some point you would think it would sink into the mush-filled skulls of the public that the FedMob cant manage anything. The media is pretending all of the FEMA failures under Obama never happened. Hence, those who aren't finding the news for themselves buy the storyline that FEMA is doing great now.

I can accept that as a reason for wide spread ignorance but I will no longer consider it an excuse.

Hey Chip. Isn’t FEMA funded by taxpayer money? Then they better damn well go in there and solve some problems the right way. I do suspect FEMA was not set up to help.
