Goodbye GOP
Tea Party Tribune ^ | 2012-12-06 15:00:11 | mrcurmudgeon

By Mr. Curmudgeon:

Two developments in the Republican Party point to its future: South Carolina's Jim DeMint announced his retirement from the United States Senate to serve as president of the conservative Heritage Foundation, and the Reuters News Service reports that GOP House Speaker John Boehner is purging conservative Tea Party members from key committees "as he seeks to tighten control over his unruly caucus ahead of difficult votes on 'fiscal cliff' issues."

The consolidation of America's one-party state begins.

You see, it matters not how conservative a Republican you send to Congress if his vote (and yours indirectly) is negated by the gelding brothers John Boehner (House) and Mitch McConnell (Senate).

"I've decided to join The Heritage Foundation at a time when the conservative movement needs strong leadership in the battle of ideas," said Sen. DeMint in a statement announcing his departure from the Senate. DeMint told the Wall Street Journal's Dan Henninger, "This is an urgent time, because we saw in the last election we [Republicans] were not able to communicate conservative ideas that win elections."

In short, DeMint had an epiphany:  His party's leadership is unable to "communicate conservative ideas" because they and the party they lead are not conservative. And believing they are requires a tortured redefinition of the term "conservative."

I have been a registered Republican my entire adult life. But the neutering of the GOP by its establishment mafia has left me no choice: At the earliest opportunity, I'll part company with the Party of Lincoln and register as an Independent.

I can't support a party that has become nothing more than the women's auxiliary of the Democratic Party.

When that collapse comes, I'm fairly certain I won't survive it: My health isn't very good, and it seems it's getting worse. So I'll be up for evaluation in front of Obama's "death panels" pretty early in... I'm glad I never had children, and I pity my nephews and nieces, especially knowing that every one of their parents voted hard left dem.

My situation is similar to yours, though my health is holding up so far, that is, until the second--and likely, fatal--heart attack occurs.

I, too, have no children and I feel sorry for my nephews and nieces. They likely will endure a long-lasting hell on Earth.

How To Register as an Independent or to Cancel Your Party Affiliation
http://partysover.net/howto/

A list of states that allow it (all but 12 or 13), with a link provided for each state.

I’m done with them. To continue this farcical game, hoping year after year the GOPe will listen and stop allowing themselves to be blackmailed/sweet-talked/bribed into submission, is akin to repeatedly bashing your head against a wall despite bleeding to death.

It’s been YEARS since I posted all those jpgs of testosterone injections to Trent Lott and Orin Hatch. Whats any different now, years later? I’m done with them.

There are many anti-Gop posters on this site.

The GOP has been terrible lately imo in the debt ceiling caving to the media, and the this “fiscal cliff” bs of the liberal media. But democrat party and democrat Obama and the democrat media have been worse than the GOP especially with their Obamacare.

The anti-GOP'rs are wrong on the Bush and GOP majority years of 1992 to 2006: As far as I know the GOP held and didn't surrender on the MAJOR socialist and country destroying legislation of the democrats 1. Amnesty for illegals, and 2. socialist healthcare. And Most if not practically all the “GOP spending” that so many here and in the liberal media say the GOP and Bush did in those years was for mandatory spending for democrat Congress legislation as in social security and medicare, medicaid. Yes as much as the liberal media said it was Bush et al that gave us medicare no it was actually democrat congresses. So yes the democrat party has destroyed this country beginning in the 1930’s with the mandatory legislation of social security.

The spending for social security , medicare medicaid etc have nothing to do with the GOP. Bush didn't create social security and medicare ,medicaid which make up most of the spending increases in the Bush years.

Now the media is democrat and the media has ruled the country for the last 100 years and so that is where the blame should be on the media(the democrat party).

Furthermore I ‘ll just give examples of just some of the legislation that I”m aware of from the democrat party that has destroyed this nation:

1. 1965 immigration act: that changed immigration from white Europe to non-white 3rd world immigration poor so we have now 60 million non-white 3rd world immigrants legal and illegal who vote for socialism and big government.
2. Obamacare : no republican and all democrats voted for this the nail in the coffin of the USA and a Republic.
3. Social security another democrat congress socialist mandatory program that every year mandates by law trillions of $ in spending.
4. Medicare same as social security only even more mandatory spending
5. medicaid.
6 .welfare

many more democrat programs.

Yes there are problems with the GOP, including the many RINOS like Boehner etc. but to not realize that the democrat party is the one who destroyed this country is ridiculous. And this communist/democrat Obama stole the election now and is in the process of enslaving us . I don't get it why so many here don't point out the enemy the democrat party.

The GOP is no longer the Republican Party it is the Bush Party. And the Bush Party is just as progressive as the Democrat Party. The GOP brand was ruined by George Bush and the Marxist media, there is no saving it. I stopped being a Republican in W second term. Look at how the Bush GOP treated Sara Palin, the Tea Party and Ron Paul supporters. And they are wondering how Obama beat them? You tell your most activist followers they are not welcome in the party and you expect to win? Lol.

The idiocy continues with the House leadership negotiating with Obama. Obama plays them for the fools they are. Stop negotiating, instead pass tax legislation and send it to the Senate.

“Forming a third party is like raising taxes on the rich. All you’ve accomplished is punishing the Republican party.”

Apples and oranges. By comparing the GOPe—people who have sold their soul— to people who have worked very hard to be successful (i.e., rich), you are insulting the rich.

How much longer are we willing to sit here supporting the GOPe? (i.e., rewarding bad behavior; being a willing victim of an abusive spouse; ‘enabling’ a hopeless addict by making excuses)

Until the next primary season? The next Presidential election? The next decade? How long? When will they change and start listening to us?

Another question I’ve asked myself: What would The Marxists fear the most? A nationwide Conservative Movement that had people leaving the GOPe by the millions to follow the Constitution? Or a nationwide Please-Listen-To-Us! Movement within the GOPe that’s repeatedly and continuously controlled by Beohner, et al?

I submit that it’s the former, not the latter. It’s a dangerous game the Marxists are playing. They have only 4 years to transform our Republic into a totalitarian nation, and they must do it by quietly controlling the GOPe enough to make them compliant with the changes, but not overtly enough to wake up the millions of Conservatives who could spoil their plans.

Having said all that, I’m not naive enough to think a Conservative Revolt could take back our country unless the current Conservative members of Congress pulled a ‘Demint-like’ action. Not resign, but something equally as significant such as register as Independents. Something that would motivate the millions of frustrated Conservatives to rally behind them. There would be strength in numbers—that’s the only way anything would change from the status quo.

And since that will never happen, here we are again back on the fencepost in Bakersfield, patiently waiting....

“It would be. If it helped. But what is the point in wining primaries when GOP corporate actively works to obstruct the new hires?”

Both of you have good points, actually, which is why this debate has continued for years.

The ideal thing would be a simultaneous Conservative effort, an all-out full-court press (or “revolt,” so to speak) , both from the top down (current Conservative members of Congress) and from the bottom up (local primary level), with the goal of eventually meeting in the middle. The sooner the better, because very soon, if The Left reaches their goal, all of our online bloviating will be irrelevant. Or not even possible at all.

There is an obvious pattern at work. And anyone wanting to review post histories will see many of the same names repeating...

Whenever conservatives begin to rally/coalesce behind a candidate/person/idea, the GOP fanbase will fly out of the woodwork and rail against ANYTHING that would cause a ‘disturbance in the force’.

We saw it with Palin as she gained influence. We saw it with Cain when his star rose. We saw it when people pointed out the less than conservative actions of Perry on border control and his vaccine BS. We saw it when people railed against the Rollins deal with Bachmann. And it goes without saying how they called many of us ‘traitors’ and worse when we refused to campaign for their liberal in the last election.

EVERY TIME.

Now what? Many of the same people are railing against the idea of dumping the GOP.

Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t the whole point of being conservative first the whole basis of the conservative philosophy? That we are not beholden to the GOP’s liberalism?

In the last several days as the furor has grown and a backlash formed against the GOP, several posters have become completely sycophantic. No matter the humiliation the GOP heaps on us, they stress the need for ‘unity’ et all.

Well I guess we are the new PUMAs. PARTY UNITY MY ASS. If they want to act like sheep, so be it. The only reps they destroy is their own. The facts are not arguable anymore if they ever really were.

The required and long overdue full court press is impossible as long as a segment of the supposed ‘conservative base’ continues to excuse the actions of the GOP.

A thinking person would logically conclude these people are GOP first and foremost and not conservative at all. Actions speak louder than words afterall.

So until we ignore them and take the bull by the horns (and rid ourselves of them entirely), we will continue to wallow in useless what if scenarios.

Ugly truth, but a real truth.

So, what is your solution? I know what you’re against, what you despise, and what you think will never work. But unless i missed it here, I haven’t seen your solution. What needs to happen, in your opinion, to stop our country from imploding into a Marxist utopia? I’m all ears.

It’s simple. We live up to what we believe. We vote for people who believe as we do. We encourage others to our side by using fact, not fear. We call bullshit, publicly and loudly on it when we hear it.

We do NOT give an iota of support, nor deference to people who work against us. Pretty much follow the EXACT formula of the founding fathers.

Unless you think they had it wrong. I do not.

None of this is rocket surgery. We just seem to find a trillion (or 16) excuses to nor do it.

And if in 10 years time we have not won? Because lets face it, there is no overnight solution to this mess, then it’s truly beyond hope. Because ‘they’ will truly outnumber us. And ‘they’ will have won.

Again, ugly truth. But a real one.

First, let's stipulate that the GOP-e absolutely sucks and is a creature of Washington -- whom, I suspect, is the real enemy.

Second, let's agree that, as NN has pointed out, we don't have a helluva lotta time in which to make an impact and change the direction of government (i.e., Washington).

Third, recognize that one of the primary problems of a third party movement is that it will invariably leave the Democrats in charge for the foreseeable future.

Accordingly, Tea Party conservatives have two choices:

1. Split off and form a third party movement. Essentially, secede and start a political Civil War. Which will cede the battlefield to the liberals for at least a decade...

2. Start a full-court press to take over the Republican party machinery -- the equivalent of a full-throated insurrection. Which desperately needs to bear fruit within a relatively short time frame.

Yeah, I know, the GOP-e has created some rules expressly designed to negate the latter approach. But, under the circumstances, seems to be the only practicable course.

Ask yourselves, how in hell did the radicals come to control the Democrat party? Presumably, the Dem-e of the time was no more interested in being superseded than the GOP-e.

Recall that, in 1968, the radicals were protesting in Grant Park -- across the street from where the Democrats were conducting their convention. By 1972, they had taken over much of the party's machinery...and actually got their candidate nominated. By 1976, with the help of Watergate, they were able to elect a President -- and, from thenceforth, achieved complete complete control of the party. To that end, recall that, in 1992, Bill Clinton was actually styled as a "New Democrat" -- an alternative to the what had become a "far left Dem-e".

Seems to me, that going off half-cocked and forming a third party only serves to punish the GOP-e -- without satisfying our own goals.

Alternatively, can we duplicate the left-wing's own success in taking over the Democrat party? I confess, I don't know. And I don't know how to do it.

But we do know that it CAN be done. And does it not seem our only practical choice?

What would be the logical elements of such a strategy? The 2014 primaries assume a special importance, of course. Further, should we withhold our contributions to the RNC and the Senate and Congressional campaign commmittees and, instead, fund our candidates directly? Should the "initial strike" be a stealth campaign -- or should it be announced in advance? Do we need an acknowledged "leader of the revolution" or shall we stay with the Tea Party's diffuse "grassroots (un)organization"? Should we all run for precinct captain?

All this, and more, needs to be addressed.

Don’t think I am belittling your well thought out post with a flippant/short reply but at it’s core your questions/issues boil down to this....

1: To duplicate the Dem takeover by the RadLeft, we would have to use their tactics. Thus, we become that which we claim to despise. So that’s out. Most on the right will not resort to pure criminal/marxist tactics.

2: There is this fantasy that we can somehow do whatever we ‘need’ to do and have it be pain free. That is not remotely possible. Further, we are not ceding the battlefield for 10 years.

We already ceded it the nanosecond we compromised ourselves and allowed liberalism to overtake the GOP several years ago.

The Dems are in total control of all 3 houses. Because Bohner and the GOP do not oppose them.

That being the unarguable truth, when cave after compromise proves it, we lose NONE/NOTHING of ANYTHING by abandoning them.

NOTHING.

So we take this several year rebuilding period, assuming the country survives/which we are literally powerless to do anything about at the moment...toget our heads out of our asses and BE the conservatives we want in office.

Is ANY person of conservative bent going to rise up when the ‘conservative’ base goes along with every lib idea the GOP throws out there? Lets face it, many of us warned that rah rahing romney would kill the party. And so it has. No one of integrity is willing to stick their necks out for such an untrustworthy ‘base’.

The GOP just crapped all over us and many are still saying “But but but we got nowhere else to go instead of manning up and saying “WE’LL BUILD A PLACE TO GO!”

When we get our act together, the rest will follow. When we put principle over party, the votes will follow. And if they don’t, we are truly done.

There are many anti-Gop posters on this site.

Rightfully so. We're Conservatives first and foremost - not party hacks. Our allegiance is to God, our families and Constitutional principles - NOT to party as so many in the GOP demand obeisance.

Yes there are problems with the GOP, including the many RINOS like Boehner etc. but to not realize that the democrat party is the one who destroyed this country is ridiculous.

The Dems would NEVER have gotten away with a single piece of their agenda without the complicity of the GOP to help them enable it. The fruits of the GOP growing big government is manifest and they share in the blame for where we have arrived.

I contend that at this juncture the GOP is the Judenrat for the MarxoFascists given the Establishment's actions this year.

The GOP is engaged in helping the Marxists politically purge Conservatives from a voice in governance. Period. That's fact.

A separation is mandatory if Conservatism is to survive at all. The GOP has become the acting arm of the enemy.

I've seen your posts and I 've agreed with some of what you say , you seem intelligent but you have to understand the power of the liberal media and how we all live in a false reality created by the liberal media. I don't know if you've seen the movie the Matrix. But people there thought they were living in reality but it wasn't real it was created by machines. This is what the media does and not many know the real reality. One thing I see is that no one on this site nor anywhere names the MAIN threat to our freedom and that is the democrat party. The media is the democrat party and the media has ruled this country for the last 100 years , and the media pulled off the super majority of democrats in Congress and installed Obama so that they could get Obamacare passed and so turn our country into a socialist country.

During the Republican Congress there was basically grid lock. There was no major government programs passed that are any considerable % of government spending If so then name them. When the democrats took control again THEN you had Major government growth as in Obamacare. You can blame the GOP for social security , medicare , welfare medicaid etc. but I see those as democrat programs and are almost all of government spending and spending increases. Obamacare : I did watch that and that was totally owned by the democrats as not a single Republican voted for Obamacare and we know that now with Obamacare the government will be able to control every aspect of our lives as we in 2013 get ready to report our healthcare info to the IRS. Now you all can say what you want about the GOP but at least the GOP stopped socialist healthcare for all of the GOP reign from 1992 to 2006 , ALL of those years, ditto for Amnesty( but i have never seen anyone on this site give praise to the GOP for stopping socialist healthcare beginning with hillary care, nor for resisting Amnesty for all those years never, all I've seen is bashing of the GOP . Yes there are problems with the GOP , Rinos like Boehner, etc. but we have to realize we live in a reality created by the liberal media and these ARE politicians no they are not heros are not saints but politicians so to think that a group of politicians stopped socialist healthcare and Amnesty for 14 years , all of their reign is an astounding accomplishment considering that the media had been calling for socialist heatlhcare for all those years and clinton pushing for it etc.
The democrats control the media and have so for 100 years so the democrat party is the threat as the media has ruled with an iron fist.

furthermore the Republicans had only a simple majority so before any talk of repeal of social security or any other federal program you had to have a 1. a super majority 2. a media that wasn't democrat but it is 3. a conservative ideologue that wasn't an idiot but but Bush was an idiot and wasn't a conservative ideologue.

But the media and many here incorrectly demonize of the GOP of being big spenders, growing government , etc. that is not true. they were at grid lock . They didn't do anything that is true but you had Bush as president , no super majority and the liberal media. They did increase military spending but conservatives claim to be for that.

So what do you propose as a solution?

How do we stop the media(democrat party), and their 60 million 3rd world immigrants from their 1965 immigration act?

Look sir, I do not wear the rose-colored party glassed that you sport. I took them off in 2008 after living for years in denial about what I saw with my own eyes as a GOP Precinct Captain in Cook County, IL up until 1998.

What exists today nationally, is actually WORSE than what I saw in that crooked county. I fear you and many like you are still stuck in a paradigm that no longer exists.

History teaches us that there is no such thing as free elections when a Marxist regime achieves power. They are scams, shows and rigged games to ensure that there is no threat to the established power. Parties and people are infiltrated and corrupted while elections are orchestrated to create an illusion of choice for the purpose of establishing the narrative that their countrymen support the tyranny they suffer. This drives hard opposition underground and convinces the others that the only way to hold onto what they have, and retain a seat at the table of power, is to cooperate with the regime.

They always are the tools used by the Marxists to purge from their ranks, those who are considered to be ‘undesirable’.

Your recollection of the GOP being a stalwart opposition party to big government and my recollections of what they have actually done are diametrically opposite. But then, I’m not beholden to party.

If you cannot see that the GOP are the Judenrat to the MarxoFascists, then you have no clue what time it is.

As to solution - seek God first, repent and then separate from those who are working to enslave us. That means we dump the Judenrat GOP wholesale, they have been working with Obama all along.

I refuse to get on the box cars for labor and death camps that those in power are arranging for our ideology to be exterminated. Therefore, it is of necessity to separate from the parties and establish new guards for our happiness, safety and security.

I do agree with you when you said in previous posts on this thread that we are under enemy occupation and that there was a marxist coup.

and I agree with this passage you posted:

What exists today nationally, is actually WORSE than what I saw in that crooked county. I fear you and many like you are still stuck in a paradigm that no longer exists.<

History teaches us that there is no such thing as free elections when a Marxist regime achieves power. I have seen the democrats do in my county(Parish) what they did in Cleveland , philadelphia etc, getting 100% of more of the vote for Obama. They stole the election. The piece of crap Obama keeps getting more powers.

What we need is less powers for the Marxist, less government , less laws .For example abolish the EPA, IRS, FDA, HUD etc.

What is wrong with people?

When are the people going to rise up and fight for our freedom? Yes I realize the media has a lot brainwashed but clearly some people should see the growth of government size and power as a threat and act to stop it?

I see the Egyptians protesting and fighting in the streets. I see no one in America doing anything but sitting on their asses watching football and a liberal like Bob Costas lecturing to us to give up our right to defend ourselves.

I see many on here posting a litany of complaints against the GOP but none against the democrat party. but where are the solutions?
