Gun-Control Battle Looms in Light of Connecticut Massacre

Gun-ownership groups were preparing themselves on Friday for another barrage of anti-firearm moves following the horrific mass killing at a Connecticut elementary school.

The National Rifle Association and most groups were keeping silent on the day that 28 people, including 20 young children, were shot dead. “Until the facts are thoroughly known, NRA will not have any comment,” the group, based in Fairfax, Va., said in a statement reported by the Atlantic.

But some organizations spoke out, including Gun Owners of America, which has about 300,000 members and is headquartered in Springfield, Va. “Gun-control supporters have the blood of little children on their hands,” Larry Pratt, the group’s executive director, said. “Federal and state laws combined to insure that no teacher, no administrator, no adult had a gun at the Newtown school where the children were murdered. This tragedy underscores the urgency of getting rid of gun bans in school zones,” he added. “The only thing accomplished by gun-free zones is to ensure that mass murderers can slay more before they are finally confronted by someone with a gun.” Gun Owners of America called for state and federal lawmakers to immediately overturn bans on guns in schools. …

Unfortunately for the gun grabbers the SCOTUS actually got one right in the Heller case.
We’ll be concentrating on saving children from being murdered by the government.

These anti-gun bastards should save it for another day. This callous opportunism is reprehensible.

There isn’t going to be a talk.
There isn’t going to be a discussion.

They are going to ban guns.

If they have to do it through executive order or UN treaty, so be it.

They are going to do it.

This is Obamaland.

Constitution be damned.

The mainstream media causes these shootings.

These psychos seek the fame the media will give them.

These shootings didn’t happen in the decades past before the media started glorifying all these shootings and making the shooters world famous.

The media want’s to take away our guns.

In Norway they had always banned guns but a psycho got a gun on the black market and killed 70+ kids and no security guard etc. had a gun to defend against that cause guns were banned long ago.

Americans - both on the right and on the left - have been buying firearms by the bushel ever since President Commie took the oath of office.

Firearms laws, thus, are recently extremely unpopular on both sides of the aisles, even if politicians want to be seen as pro-gun control in light of this latest insanity.

Gun control, however, is a vote loser, so look for there to be an enormous amount of hot air expended, then some toothless and irrelevant new law sent to committee, where it’ll die once things blow over.

I wonder why our government wants to discuss gun control but doesn’t want to discuss 300 dead Mexicans from the illegal gun sales of Fast & Furious...?

Nope. Obama can sign anything he likes; it won’t hold.

And I include the so-called UN treaty, too.

Dollars to donuts.

I think it will come out that the gunman was on all sorts of medication and had no direction of self worth in his life. After all of facts come out, we will see if he was pure evil or mentally disturbed. Evil doesn't care. I think personally, the guy was evil. It took time to aim to hit a victim. People have to realize evil is around every day.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bath_School_disaster

Largest School deaths of children was in 1927. Third largest loss of life in USA by mass killing. A .30-caliber Winchester bolt-action rifle was involved, but only used to detonate explosives. Guns are not the problem. They are the solution to nuts with guns.

MtnMan101,

Your graphic post #11 (Violated Twice) says it ALL, and very clearly.

Just keep posting and repeating it in other gun related threads to make sure anyone with a lick of common sense gets the message.

Thanks my friend.

EXACTLY. Someone who wants to have a gun will get it - legally or not.

Banning guns will ONLY ensure that law-abiding citizens won't have guns, BUT NOT that non-abiding citizens won't.

Such is the case here - the school employees DID NOT have guns, the shooter [apparently] had guns illegally [they were his mother's].

RESULT: 27 dead victims and 1 dead perp ...

NOW, if someone in the school had been authorized to pack, the perp may never have gone there - or if he did, he might not have been able to commit as much mayhem.

Gun show in Tucson this weekend. A 200 mile round trip for me but it seems a good time to load up on PMAGs.

They can’t wait, but they have to because it’s Christmas time.

After the first of the year, it’s the “fiscal cliff.”

Gun grabbing is always on their menu, and the Marxist plans to go for the prize this time.

We’ll see.

I expect gun and ammo sales to spike more than ever.

The Democrats hysterical and irrational "connecting the dots" leads them to attempt again to take away the guns of law abiding citizens, so only the government and criminals will have guns.

They miss not an opportunity to disarm responsible, taxpaying citizens. The Democrats refuse to connect the dots showing lower crime rates in areas without gun control laws. The Democrats do not want to look into the circumstances of the Connecticut shootings before they launch their barrage of anti gun sentiment.
