I don’t see any exploitation.

I see a big flaw in logic of people wringing their hands over a nut killing 20 children some years after their birth and zero concern about millions of people killing their own babies before they take their first breath.

Which is the truly defenseless victim?

Pope Benedict XVI approves of this message.

The Vatican on Friday released the pope's peace message, in which he called for policymakers to think of themselves as peacemakers in economic and social policy. He warned that abortion and gay marriage were threats to peace.

"Those who insufficiently value human life, and in consequence, support among other things the liberalization of abortion perhaps do not realize that in this way they are proposing the pursuit of a false peace," since peace presupposes protecting the weakest, he wrote.

And, for good measure ....

Laws granting legal status for gay unions, he said, "actually harm and help destabilize marriage" by obscuring its specific nature as a union between man and woman that forms the basis of society.

Some people might be offended but maybe that’s their consciences being jarred? I like the calm approach for the most part but, if the other side is going to fight dirty and politic at every opportunity, why not deliver a shot right between the running lights now and again?

How to phrase this for maximum impact....

When we stop caring about the ‘feelings’ of the opposition or fence sitters and ram reality down their throats whether they like it or not and start shaming them with it, there is a hope they wil self-reflect.

If they don’t they are every bit the human garbage they present themselves as.

We tried nice. And to quote Patrick Swayze, it’s time to not be nice. Personally I don’t want guns to end up banned because I was to meek to ‘offend’. Do you?

Not a big fan of Catholics (grew up as one, @ Mother of Sorrows church in Greece NY), but the Pope is a good guy.

The Second Amendment IS pro-life.

"Among the natural rights of the Colonists are these: First, a right to life; Secondly, to liberty; Thirdly, to property; together with the right to support and defend them in the best manner they can. These are evident branches of, rather than deductions from, the duty of self-preservation, commonly called the first law of nature...In short, it is the greatest absurdity to suppose it in the power of one, or any number of men, at the entering into society, to renounce their essential natural rights, or the means of preserving those rights; when the grand end of civil government, from the very nature of its institution, is for the support, protection, and defence of those very rights; the principal of which, as is before observed, are Life, Liberty, and Property. If men, through fear, fraud, or mistake, should in terms renounce or give up any essential natural right, the eternal law of reason and the grand end of society would absolutely vacate such renunciation. The right to freedom being the gift of God Almighty, it is not in the power of man to alienate this gift and voluntarily become a slave."

-- Samuel Adams, The Rights of the Colonists

I’d like to know why not a single MSM outlet has given any coverage to the 22 Chinese children who were slashed by a lunatic with a butcher knife on the same day as the Sandy Hook Massacre.
Yeah, I know the answer. Agenda. There wasn’t a gun involved. It was a butcher knife.

How many abortions were performed in America in 2006 (the year the Sandy Hook first-graders were born)?

Or even just in the state of Connecticut?

I would add that "statistic" -- that number of innocent kids murdered before they were born -- to your poster. Strengthens the tie....

As if it needed strengthening...

Any more strengthening, it would crack the LCD monitor.

Which is the truly defenseless victim?

They're both defenseless victims -- both the child who is dismembered to death in the womb, and the first grader mowed down by gunfire in the classroom.

Agree, Laz's post is not "exploiting" the issue -- because The Culture of Death IS the issue.

The Culture of Death in America was kicked off when the Supreme Court stamped its imprimatur on murdering pre-born babies --for any "reason," and at any time during gestation-- in SCOTUS's decisions on Roe vs. Wade and Doe vs. Bolton.
