"The computer's hard drive appeared to have been badly damaged with a hammer or screw driver,"

Does anyone else find this statement curious? The characteristic tool marks of a hammer and a screwdriver (even if the screwdriver is used like a hammer) are VERY different. With stupid statements like this, I begin to smell the whiff of politically convenient happenstance.

But maybe the aluminum in my hat is too tight.

“The computer’s hard drive appeared to have been badly damaged with a hammer or screw driver,”

...or it may have been a cougar bite, we can’t be sure.

My first thought was:
considering the importance of this information, there are resources available that can recover information from some very damaged hard drives... So why are they dismissing any attempt to recover such information?

Then I read your point

"The computer's hard drive appeared to have been badly damaged with a hammer or screw driver," ... Does anyone else find this statement curious?

Now that you mention it, yes.

If it wasn’t an external drive, it would have had to be removed of the computer would have been obviously mangled.

Extremely fishy.

He smashed it with a hammer to get access to the platters, and scarred the platters with a screwdriver.

Sounding a bit suspicious to me, too.
How many of these clowns go out with out leaving some sort of rant or manifesto? They want their 15 minutes.

Very curious. If he was accused to downloading music or kiddie porn, they would be able to reconstruct his entire online life from a handful of hard drive shards.

This is another leftist, anarchist, disaffected young male video game player. Since he was a child, any masculine tendency has been declared bad and has been medicated out of him. As a young adult, he has become the feminized metrosexual that everyone demanded he become to fit into their vision of society and he hates that society for making him into a virtual eunuch.

There are millions of these time bombs ticking across America. Liberals created this person, so they want to destroy his history and focus on the tools he used to kill.

Yup...loosen it up a bit. Any time I take a pc to recycle I take a sledge hammer to the hard drive first. I guarantee no one will be recovering data from those drives. Doesn't take a lot to make it unrecoverable.

“They” are not being fully truthful, and you are correct.

Aluminum! Ye gods man. You must use tin! A proper Tin Foil Hat is made of tin! Hard to find, yes. But aluminum foil just doesn't cut it!

You forget that any long weapon, including shotguns are considered by the left to be ‘assault weapons’!. And high tech to them is a ball point pen!!

Yep. I was wondering the same thing.

What sort of deranged, dysfunctional mass murderer says to himself: "I'd better destroy my hard drive FIRST before I go and massacre today?

Nah. I don't think so.

As in the case of Jared Loughner, who turned out to be a Barking Moonbat, after NBC accused us Tea Party folks of hatching him?

Like that?
