The Only Way to Stop School Shootings
American Thinker ^ | 12/18/12 | William A Levinson

Senator Dianne Feinstein's ghoulish eagerness to exploit the tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut for political gain is reminiscent of stock horror movie villains who need and crave the blood of innocents for their unholy agendas. Feinstein's agenda is an "assault weapon" ban, and it needs to be shut down before it gets started.

Suppose that Feinstein had somehow been able to make all magazines larger than 10 rounds disappear overnight. Mass murderer Adam Lanza would have had to switch magazines more frequently but, as he was the only armed person present in the school, he could have done that at his leisure. The only armed person present could, in fact, have wreaked considerable havoc with only a knife or an axe. The phrase "the only armed person present" indicates the only rational solution to the problem in question, as does the fact that Lanza turned his gun on himself only when the arrival of other armed people (police) changed his situation to his disadvantage. This reinforces the lesson that, when seconds count, the police are only minutes away.

The crack-pot needs to "do something" with respect to every problem. Unfortunately, it is the nature of a crack-pot or "air-head," never to really analyze any problem, before embracing something destructive, in order to appear to be "doing something."

Let me suggest that we change the direction of the debate. Let us, rather, reject the fantasy world that people are interchangeable, rather than reject the ability of law-abiding people to defend family, property & society. Let us understand that what happened a few days ago, far more likely reflects the fact that we are Losing America's Multi-Generational Purpose, rather than anything that Leftist "air-heads," choose to characterize as a "gun-culture."

These massacres would be far less likely to happen, if our youth were again schooled in Western cultural values that, for the previous thousand years, honored men who acted as chivalric men, and women who acted as honorable & loving women. (How is that for an idea, whose time has come?)

Reminds me of the lady I heard who called Rush’s show yesterday. She said maybe if Lanza had to change magazines more he would have stopped and thought about what he was doing...

He didn’t stop and think after he killed his mom, or the first teacher, or the second, or the third. he didn’t stop after the first child, or the second, or the third...

He stopped when faced with opposing force.

Two things Americans have mastered is stupidity and making victims of themselves.

He had plenty of time to think. If he had lived, I don’t think a jury would have had much problem with 1st degree (premeditated) murder. Second or third degree is when somebody does something in a fit of violent anger, like picking up a knife or broken beer bottle in a fit of drunken rage. This guy planned his crime; he brought two or more guns and a couple of hundred rounds of ammunition. He knew exactly what he was doing, and more time would have simply given him more victims.

Since the 1980s, Americans public schools have relied on a form of "values" education which is designed to purposely separate the individual student from his parent and religious faith. They do this in order to pour every "ism" they can into them without our knowledge. So, is it any wonder that some student sufficiently removed from any moral underpinning should at some point lash back without an indefinable reason, something even he cannot understand?

Your assumption is correct and years ago we had a Western education instilling wonderful cultural values. The present type of values "indoctrination" is heavily endorsed by the NEA and the CDC and has created this horrible mess.

Yeah, a gun-free zone will fix the problem.

The only thing that will take a bite out of these shootings is to bring FATHER back into the frey and give him back his parenting rights. Uber militant "feminism" has rendered fathers as mere ad hoc non-parental status babysitters over their own children.

The courts have designated MOM as the universal sovereign/only rightful parent. Should she be a "BFF" type "parent"(befriending her children instead of having authority over them), a free ranger (letting children do as they please; sheltering them from consequences), a heroin addict or an axe murderer MOM has been given the ultimate authority by the various government agencies to use dad's wallet to create a nation of under-achieving wussie, uber-medicated, selfish, self centered, entitled, spoiled, incapable of empathy, budding felons and sociopaths. I hope Gloria Steinem is happy.

Oh yes, this person most certainly planned his crime.

Yet this woman, who is oviously in the throws of great sadness, has determined that we must ban high capacity mags, because they do not allow the shooter time to think between reloading, as he would need to reload less.

Honestly, people make no sense at all to me anymore. It seems that their ability to think rationally about anything is simply gone.

If something means something to you, then defend it. The lives of children for example. Defend those lives with guns. A gun is the tool of freedom. The terrorist, either foreign or domestic, uses the tools of freedom against the free in order to imprison the free.

The terrorist is clearly winning at this point with superior strategy.

People need to wake up and use their brains, or they are going to be utterly crushed by their enemies, their leader and themselves.

The nonstop tinkering with every aspect of our society by 535 people in the Congress is exactly why America is in such a mess today.

We can’t fix anything as long as these 535 people believe that they have god-like intelligence.

They MADE these problems; they CAN’T FIX them!!!

Feinstein and all of the rest of the Congress (Yes, I’m including BOTH parties) need to be turned out to pasture. WE NEED to create HARD TERM LIMITS that allow a Represenbtative in the House 2 terms, a Senator 1 term and a president 2. In addition, federal judges should be appointed for a period of 10 years and may be re-appointed for an additional term of 10 years at the pleasure of the president at the time. NO MORE lifetime appointments!!

Finally, in the case of the president, when enough voters are fed up with him/her, we need to have an easier method to recall the president and replace him or her ESPECIALLY when the Congress refuses.

Nearly the entire world believes that a strong defense is the best form of war prevention. So far these incidents have occured at places where the perp will not be challenged. Lets make it clear that that is not the case, dispense with the “gun free zone” baloney. Lets watch for these kids that dress like Ninjas or Swat Team members. These cowards will will desist when they know they will be challenged.

The lady who called was in denial.

Remember the stages of grief.

Anger - blame blame blame

Denial — “he would have stopped”

bargaining — if we go finestien this will never happen again etc.

finally acceptance -— for democrats skulk into their shadows to regroup.

You are right. It was like she was trying to rationalize for the person who will not rationalize.

How do we make him stop and think, make him just take an extra moment to realize what he is doing?

Shoot him dead.

I do not care what he thinks at all.

Shoot him dead, and he will stop.

People from all ranges ranges have lost their ability to assess situations or contemplate solutions.

Does anyone remember what ended the school shooting in Pearl, Mississippi? A vice principal armed with a .45 caliber semi automatic handgun apprehended the shooter and held him until police arrived.
