Mitt Romney ‘had no desire to run,’ son says

Mitt Romney didn't want to be president, anyway.

That's what Tagg Romney, Mitt's oldest son, told the Boston Globe for its big post-mortem on his father's failed presidential bid published on Sunday.

“He wanted to be president less than anyone I’ve met in my life," Tagg Romney told the paper. "He had no desire to ... run. If he could have found someone else to take his place ... he would have been ecstatic to step aside.

It’s things like this that make me wonder how anyone can look at it honestly and conclude that the GOP isn’t intentionally batting for the other team.

There is no logical, reasonable way that is anything but a stagemanaged and scripted attempt to pull more wool over any eyes still wearing rose colored glasses ...to mix metaphors.

Any GOP fans wanna take a crack on justifying this level of absurdity?

THAT is the best we had? On what planet would you let those people manage a high school badminton team? And they were going to win?

HA!

Hearing that Mitt really didn't want to win must really be a slap in the face to his donors. It was bad enough for them having to swallow the loss after bankrolling such an inept campaign.

Probably won't see any real money flowing into the Republican campaign in the future after this debacle.

That is an extremely intersting theory.

Some said the same of BO back in '08 when Bush gave him his first security briefing -- supposedly BO looked shocked and maybe even sick -- but he still went through with his campaign.

This was a Conservative year and we ran an idiot.

We had the bases loaded, and we sent our bat boy to the plate.

We had the ball first and goal on the five and we handed the ball off to our water boy.

If he runs again, I will support him - didn’t even know about him until that night.

The die was cast no matter who was the Republican Candidate.

In many places votes were not counted (military) and when they were in some cities, 110-120% were for Obama. Fraud was perpetrated and there was NO AUDIT correcting it. No one seemed to care, the whole travesty of a corrupt vote is disregarded and will occur each election thereafter as long as it is permitted to continue.

In too many instances attacks by democrats and Obama were left unchallenged and the politically correct necessity of being "nice" when the opponent was hitting with weighted gloves did serious damage. A little down-to-earth setting things straight would likely have given Romney an edgier personna (by ignoring the lies and taunts, this may be where Romney showed disinterest in truly fighting for the job). Many would not vote for a Mormon under any circumstances and others will not vote for another RINO.

Boehner's pulling of conservatives out of committee recently illustrates no lessons have been learned. Voters are changing affiliation to "independent" with disgust of the party's inability to focus on the principles upon which it was founded. By the time 2016 arrives, the effects of Obamacare taxation will be ripping apart the democrat party and the economy. The GOP better get its ducks in a row and attempt to win back conservatives and independents instead of excising them Boehner style.

Learning that he didn’t want to be president confirms the fact that those of us who voted against him did the right thing.

The system has been manipulated to the point that only Hillary’s reset button could save it. As long as she isn’t near it.

Over several decades this has been incremented into place. We don’’t have several years much less several decades to fix it. Which means that we are probably well and truly fornicated.

And the GOP didn’t even buy us dinner.

Seems like the GOP has the same attitude for 2016...They already have Sean Hannity pushing the Illegal Alien Amnesty agenda on the Phony Cons. GOP definitely the Stupid Party

It sounds like the scumbag GOP establishment elite had to actively recruit Mittens to run. I guess the thought of an actual conservative running as the GOP candidate had them scared poopless.

The Independents you speak of showed up for Romney. Unfortunately, more of the Socialists showed up for Obama.

The Voters still blamed Bush for the Economy, so you are better off blaming him than Romney.

Remember, we lost two Senate Seats (and didn't gain two because of stupid comments by our Candidates) because the Rats had a better ground game than we did. There were 23 Senate Democrats defending their Seats and we didn't take a one. Romney and Voter Fraud can't be blamed for that.

We are the Minority, so it's time to be self sufficient. You cannot depend on the leftover remnants of Conservatives in Government to protect us. In 2014, the Democrats will probably retake the House since the Republicans will get the blame for the bad Economy matter what.

The die is cast for 2014 as well, so get used to it.

Obama is the Flubber President. Things don't just slide off him like he was Teflon, they bounce off and accelerate in the opposite direction, likely hitting a Republican.

Just because someone is a moronic, feckless fool doesn’t mean they didn’t want to win.

Does ANYONE with a brain really believe this?

I say we pick a freeper at random, get the entire userbase to sign a letter to all the TEA groups and the GOP stating “Until you run a candidate at least as conservative with a better grasp of the issues than this person, do not plan our our votes.”
