In a move that potentially may spark a class action lawsuit, Dicks Sporting Goods is refusing to fill orders for guns that were paid for weeks ago.
Russell Kellner of Flower Mound, Texas said he and his wife bought three Troy Defense Carbine Semi-Automatic Rifles on Black Friday at a cost of $799 each, a $300 dollar discount.
It was a heck of a deal, said Kellner. They received two of them, but were then notified by Dicks on Christmas Eve, that no more orders would be fulfilled...

Aptly named.
Who needs Dicks?
Agreed. Academy Sports is my favorite spot for deals. They have some good sales on brand name gear. It’s a way better option than the other big box “sporting goods” stores at least in FL. Bass Pro is on another level obviously.
I don’t think so.
Soccer moms (along with soccer dads) and pop culture are much of why my last shopping trip to Dick's was my last shopping trip to Dick's. I haven't stepped foot in the place for over a year, and am probably a smidgen less cynical about my quondam "fellow Americans" because of it. Organized team sports and athletic event voyeurism is truly the current opiate of the masses.
If I were to wake up some morning with an uncontrollable craving to buy cartoonish, overpriced and underbuilt NCAA/NFL/NBA-licensed merchandise (made by Chinese teenagers) from a retailer who looks down on handgun buyers and thinks that AR-15s are assault rifles... well, there's always Dick's.

Hide and watch. The so called “gun show loophole” will be part of this recent anti-gun push.
They want to track all weapons.
Personally if I were these folks, I'd sue for misrepresentation and fraud.
They can only track the ones they know about.
That’s what was said when he first got elected. I’ll wait, and in the meantime continue making ammunition, practicing and buying at least one weapon a year.

I will not put them in the box,
I will not fit them out with locks.
You may not take mine oh no no,
I will not ever let them go.
You cannot have them Missus Feinstein
So stick your bill where the sun dont shine.
Amen!
Bye bye Dick’s .... HELLO Bass Pro!! We have a lovely Bass Pro shop up the road. Dick’s is closer, but that store is more of a preppy athletic place than a store for hunters, gun enthusiasts, etc.
Looks like the Dick heads need a lesson in customer service.
Sounds like a plan. I want you on my team!
Happy New Year partner.
Just before Christmas Dick’s opened 4 new stores in the Oklahoma City area. I don’t think their PR programs are winning them any customers here. Besides, they’re too damn expensive to begin with.
And Happy New Year to you also. I try to buy one handgun per year when my range membership expires. The shop offers a 1/2 price on one years range access with a firearm purchase.
We need something more effective than a boycott.
Spend time there, look over merchandise, take notes.
When a clerk asks if they can help, tell them:
“No thank you, I’d never buy anything here, as you don’t fulfill your orders, even after they’re paid for.”
No need to explain that you’re just researching to buy elsewhere, as they’ll get the point.
I drive by a Dick’s Sporting Goods in Flower Mound every single day. Can guarandamntee that driving past their store each day will be the extent of my relationship with them.
There’s a Bass Pro in Grapevine.
I may only shop at a Dick’s a couple times a year but that is two times a year that I will not in the future. I also will make sure a few friends and family are informed.
In many places, WalMart does not sell long guns, either! In the north central Texas area, you must go at least 100 miles away from major urban areas to smaller towns find a Walmart that stocks long guns. Walmart is selectively playing the politically correct game regardless of volume of sales in a given area nor will you find any firearms on their web site.
The closest Bass Pro is 90 mins. away...
I don't know about your area, but Academy has removed all AR platform rifles (above .22 LR caliber) from the shelves in the Dallas /Ft. Worth area! They are playing the same p.c. game as Dick's!
