Ed Schultz: Obama Took "Republicans To The Cleaners" In Fiscal Cliff Deal (video)

ED SCHULTZ, MSNBC: "If I could just put it this way: the White House is taking the Republicans to the cleaners in negotiation on this. This is a huge win for the White House, if they can get the votes on this. And that's why Schumer is coming out, saying that there's going to be strong Democratic support here. This is a big win for the Democrats, no question about it. A big win for America. This underscores the vote on November 6th, there's no question about it."

Not by continuously beating up our side.

I'm not a republican. I'm a registered Conservative.

These guys may want to save their gloating until after the voting has taken place.

Remember that Obama saw it as being in his own, and in the Dems, political self-interest to go over the cliff.

I'd guess that the taunting by Ed and others is actually designed to harden GOP opposition to the "deal". Particularly in the House where I think Dems believe they smell blood in the water and can take down Boehner, leave the GOP conference in disarray and bring about a Dem Speakership in 2015. Classic divide and conquer tactic.

What it really goes to show is that there's no way that the Republicans can "win" in the MSM. Either they're jerks for inflicting the cliff on middle America or they're wimps for caving into Obama's demands.

We need a new Speaker and a new GOP leadership. One that's not only willing to stand up to the bullying/Alinskyite tactics of the President and Dems but also capable of effectively putting together and espousing a CONSERVATIVE counter-plan.

If anyone knows where we can find one with BOTH those qualities, please let us know. In the meantime, I don't see any way that the GOP House majority survives this ...

RE :”They’re now circling the wagons around John Boehner trying to convince us that Boehner’s got the democrats and Obama over a barrel now.”

If you see anyone posting that PLEASE ping me to it.

After being a lone voice here in 2009 to 2010 warning to get rid of Bohner I kind of feel sorry for him now.

The Republicans in the House, not even the most uber-uber conservative Tea partiers will challenge him to be Speaker themselves, because they no way want his job to be Speaker which is to be the Scape-goat for all the O wins, while they themselves instead get to hide in the back protecting themselves by voting their meaningless symbol ‘nos’, like all those symbolic repeals of O care.

Its pathetic, how about beating O for a change?

< snip: “He is Speaker of the House and is a direct line to become President. In that position, he represents everybody in this country.”

Yes he does - but I get to vote for him you do not, and I can tell you we are all very proud of John. John is a true patriot and servant.

I’d put John up against Newt, & Denny, any day as far as being a great speaker. You all can try to judge that John isn’t doing a good job but what are comparing him too ? Everyone listens to blogs and media and assumes they understand the entire picture.... I would seriously doubt it.

Because he isn’t doing what you want you would prefer to knock him down rather than try to support, particularly when you know he is an honest joe.

These blogs are great for folks to criticize from their couches. < end snip

Posting an article like this....where a liberal gets something correct once in a blue moon....is nothing compared to the attacks on the conservative WND posted on another thread about 12 hrs ago. I find the attacks on a conservative news website way more disturbing.

Obama is playing the RINOCons for fools.

“he didn’t take the GOP leaders anywhere they didn’t already want to go”

Good point. That reminds me of a pre-election 2012 article:

Exactly, no way do any of them want that job themselves. That would be no fun at all.

You should challenge them to oppose him as Speaker by running for it , this losing and then scape-goating whining stuff is long past old.

I am by far no Bohner fan but I am sick of this whining losing game, I can see exactly how they are using him as the goat.

They either need to step up to take his place or to get behind him to fight O. None of them want his job now it appears.

Get someone to run against him, its that simple.

Yep, but of Boner gets voted as Speaker again I wont put all the blame on him for losing the House. There will be plenty to go around.

Oct. 2012:

<snip “Most of these people are unemployed and their emergency benefits have run out. Despite what you hear there is a limit on the benefits an unemployed gets. More than that sometime around Jan 14th EVERYBODY’s federal emergency benefits end because that’s when the program expires. It does not matter if someone has just got on emergency unemployment in August, October or december - they all stop on that date.

What the republicans should do is put up a bill that extends the emergency unemployment benefits for 3 - 6 months. And offer cuts in other places (preferably in places Harry Reid would not like to see cuts) to offset the cost of the emergency unemployment.

This will put Harry Reid and his party in a very difficult position (between a rock and a hard place). It will NOT look good if his party votes against the unemployed victims of this pResident.

If this had been done earlier we would not be seeing 7.8% unemployment because the more people that get back into the program the higher the unemployment rate will reflect Realville as it heads up toward 11%.

Most likely we will see another drop in the unemployment rate next month. This is the time that those who went on emergency unemployment expire and are no longer counted as unemployed. This benefits Obama.

Mitt Romney is right, the rate is dropping as people’s unemployment benefits expire.” < end snip

I have been sending John Boehner my ideas for quite some time - the above idea was one of several I sent to him so it’s not like I’m doing nothing but complaining. I am engaged.

That said, I do not see the republicans maintaining the House in 2014. John Boehner is no match against Obama, the democrat poltical machine and their media. Boehner’s got no PR skills not is he articulate enough.

Ed Shultz wants to be the new Obama fluffer, a position previously held by
Chris Mathews for four years running. Internal sources claim there are viscous
battles going on between the hosts for this prestigious Liberal position.

If you think this is a big win, you ain’t seen nothin yet. Just wait until the GOP vote in federal employee pay raises and call them budget cuts.

Hey Ed, you liberal moron - it's the American taxpayers who are being taken to the cleaners but that's not important to you, is it? It's all about Obama “winning”, isn't it?
