Clinton Not Tried in Senate After Impeachment, Ed Schultz Comically Insists
NewsBusters ^

Ed Schultz's grasp of American history in the BB era -- Before Barack -- is tenuous at best. And when Schultz is wrong about something from that ancient realm of our past, he makes a fool out of himself.

On his radio show Friday, Schultz got on the wrong side of an argument with a better informed caller. Naturally, Schultz couldn't resist hanging up on the man and labeling him an idiot.

"...he makes a fool out of himself. "

Sgt. Schultz shot and killed his own dog.

That’s their whole schtick anymore. Get in your face yell over you, shoot you down and tell you not to interrupt them, the whole time they are breathlessly spouting off at 100 miles an hour with gusts up to 150.

Idiot...

Hmm. Is perjuring oneself against the law? That’s just the obvious one.

These slugs think never letting the other side get a word in edgewise and making crude insults equals winning a debate.

In the sense that it was decided by Senators BEFORE the Senate ‘trial’ that he would NOT be convicted, Schulz has a point.

I actually watch that guy sometimes. His head is going to explode on the air one night, and I don’t want to miss it.

plus, he is funnier than most things you find on the comedy channel

Nonetheless, he was, per the Constitution, indicted in the House of Representatives, and tried (that specific word in the Constitution) in the Senate which IIRC was overseen by Supreme Court Chief Justice Rehnquist.....he was acquitted when 2/3 of the Senators (those without benefit of testicles) failed to convict.

Seems to me that there was a “trial”, but the Senate was rehashing the job of the House, declaring that the charges did not rise to the level of Impeachment. The “trial” was conducted, but Shultzy does have a point.

If the trial been conducted properly, there’s no way they could have not found Clinton guilty, and removed him from office. The facts were there, and the job of the Senate was to determine if he did indeed do what he was impeached for. He did indeed do what he was impeached for, and the Senate balked on doing their Constitutional duty.

Since we now directly elect Senators, I suppose we now have two Houses and we should quit calling it the Senate. In THAT sense, they did what they did correctly.

Actually, the caller was an idiot. He tried to reason with a deranged, slobbering retard like Sgt. Schultz.
