WHY GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS ARE OUR MAIN PROBLEM
Vanity | 1/8/2013 | Dick Bachert

A story that plays into where we are now bears recitation. I’m working from memory here and some of the details may not be precisely correct but the take away message has stuck with me all these years.

In August, 1977, a small church in Louisville, Nebraska – Faith Baptist – was raided by armed agents of the state Department of Education for running a Christian school. The ostensible reason for the raid was that they were NOT adhering to the state “requirement” that ALL schools and teachers be “certified” by the state. A judge issued an order that the school be closed. They remained open and the raid ensued. The teachers and 17 students children were terrorized as they were held at gunpoint on the floor. The pastor, one Everett Sileven, was arrested and held in jail for some time.

Public pressure forced his release and he began a crusade the effects of which are still felt today in the Christian and home school communities.

Here’s the take away message about which I have the clearest memory: Pastor Sileven appeared on a TV debate program to defend his church school. Also there was an official of the Nebraska Department of Education. At one point, either the moderator or Pastor Siliven turned to the school bureaucrat and asked the real reason why the state had such a problem with their small church school?

Without missing a beat, through a sneer anyone who has visited the DMV will recognize, the bureaucrat declared (and I’m paraphrasing): “Because you are denying the state schools needed money. And because you are educating children outside the public school system, in the world we’re designing for the future, THEY WON’T FIT IN!”

Dwell on those last 4 words for a moment. If you’re curious about just what that world they were designing might look like, LOOK AROUND.

You’re living in it!!

Yup. I voted in our local High School. I live in a rock sold GOP bastion. Classes were going on and some girls walked by screaming “Obama”. Sad.

This country’s public schools are the cesspool depots of socialist propaganda, run by the largest socialist organizations, the teachers’ unions.

After what happened at Sandy Hook, parents really must start to think about putting their kids where their kids will be safe.

Private schools have armed personal, home schools are safe, but public schools have shown themselves to be places that are very unsafe for kids.

Look, I know that I am no smarter than our members of Congress, I know I am no smarter than Barak Hussien Obama, I know that most governors are every bit as smart, if not smarter than me, as are the majority of members of state Legislatures, Sheriffs, Police, Courts and Media. So, it only stands to reason that if I am smart enough to know that by making schools gun free zones, by making it illegal for anyone who works for the schools to be armed, it is only inviting criminals and evil doers, so are they.

Yet, the politicians, the police, the media, the courts, all have done their part to make sure that when a crazed killer wants to attack a school there will be no one there to interfere with his, her, or their evil deed. These sheriffs, those police, courts, politicians and media are just as guilty, just as responsible for the deaths of those twenty 5 and 6 year olds as are the killer(s). And I for one will no longer hold them harmless.

But, what about you, where do you draw the line? Where do you say “ENOUGH!”? How many more kids have to die before you realize that the politicians, the police, the media, the courts don’t care about the kids, they are using them for political gain.

It really is child abuse. Some people served prison time for exposing children to the advanced sexual materials (once called pornography) that schools now mandate for children.

Breaking up the left’s monopoly of the education system from Kindergarten through graduate and professional schools should be the number one long-term priority of the conservative movement. That is where the war will be won or lost.

Remember that “Body by Fisher” emblem that GM used to put on their junkmobiles?

It’s just about as trustworthy as “certification” of an individual whose education wouldn’t allow them to dig ditches a century ago.

New idea: You want to teach children science? Try using someone who has real degrees - in some science. You want history? How about someone who has actually majored in history from a real college (e.g., NOT Harvard/etc.)?

Yes, I know there are many great teachers out there (”teachers”...not “educators”).

However, none are great because of the junk which was force fed to them when they were being “certified”.

I have come to believe that the communist indoctrination centers called public schools ARE the root cause of most of our problems today.

The World Health Organization, (that highly touted globalist outfit) has rated the various nations on the numbers of murders per 100,000 population; and the U.S. is really on the bottom of the list in numbers murdered. ALL those who rated higher and much higher than the U.S. either banned guns or had strict “gun control” laws.

I believe that If public schools were outlawed tomorrow, the education of all American kids would start to improve immediately at all levels, and that all society should organize around a parent or aunt/uncle providing home schooling through high school.

Looking at the college entrance exams of 150-200 years ago, when there were few public schools, shows how far we have fallen. We could not do worse than the education that the typical inner city kid gets today.

A question to my fellow conservatives: in the extremely unlikely chance that that would ever happen, should the government provide a voucher to parents for each kid’s home school curriculum/books?

My Son will graduate from a Christian high school this May. He’s been in a Christian school since kindergarten. Christian schools, in my experience, aren’t a panacea. It’s a real meat and potatoes education. Limited foreign language classes. Limited art classes including music. Shop and auto shop? Nope. His math teacher for algebra and geometry has a math degree from a great private college. She couldn’t teach fish to swim. We had to send him to Sylvan to help him with math. Athletics turned out to be horrible. The coaches all want to coach somewhere else, so they focus on one kid to try and get him a college scholarship so they can add that to their resume. The best grade school basketball players in my son’s class have all quit playing basketball because the team was so messed up. The school board selects the new board members. They are so good, the school will begin bankruptcy proceedings at the end of this month. There are good points. A troublemaker is gone right away. They do have chapel every week. No homosexuals. We paid property taxes to support the public schools and we paid tuition for him to attend a private school. We also had to pay Sylvan to bring him up to standards in math.

Public schools are deconstructing America. Most of this nation's problems are incubated in the public school system.

The Prussian system is designed to destroy Christian Ethics and condition children to engage in group think and be afraid to be different than the “herd”. They implant moral relativism “feel good, do it” which destroys character and perseverance.

Schools now conditions children into dependency in all aspects of life and collectivism—group math, group everything. (They are conditioned into slavery-—being told what to think and what to do for eight hours a day). Individualism is demeaned-—thinking differently (un-PC) is demeaned. Institutionalization of children teaches them an artificial reality——one which removes them from Natural Laws and Common Sense. They can’t “think” the way Lincoln did who was principled and NOT a GROUP THINKER-—which is the only thing public schools produce.

They are put with their own age group, so the smart are kept down—and the others feel dumb. One Room school houses let children work at their individual rates where they had older, more mature behavior to emulate. Taking children away from family, removes mature models of behavior= and the public schools expose them to horrid, immature behaviors of peers that could never happen in home without TV. Inculcating immaturity is the most prevalent activity of public schools.

They destroy smart intelligent thinkers outside the box-—on purpose. Isolate them—target them—humiliate them— and drug them. Even expert, good teachers can not protect the children from being laughed at—and the system is set up to humiliate those who do not conform to group think.

No sane person should put any child in the inhumane Prussian system designed—as Pastor Bonhoeffer’s mother stated—to break the independence and morality of the children. She refused to let her kids set into them until they were 8 years old-—so the State would have a harder time destroying their family morality since Germany took God out of their schools way earlier than the USA.

We need government out of education-—they will only make slaves for the State (JS Mill). We need local control of all education (Constitutional)—and burn all public school curricula and get back the original McGuffey Readers’ content. (The Classics and the Bible-—where wisdom, reason and logic-—and an understanding of Human Nature occurred— and Virtue was instilled into the children like our schools did prior to that sick watered-down, stupid curricula of John Dewey (the Fabian Socialist).

Indeed. Wish I had a clue how to turn it around. Outlaw public unions for starters. But they are too well funded by us. So we have to fund both sides of the fight.
