Really. Give the president his due: he fights for what he believes in.
In his first year in office, Obama faced a popular backlash against his stimulus spending bill and saw a Republican elected to Ted Kennedy

Uh - because they can’t find a single testicle in the Pubbie caucus?
You mean, ask Republicans to act like a brain-dead, egotistical liar?
Maybe because they believe more in holding on to power than in whatever they sought power for?
Act like a-holes?
It’s easy to push and agenda when you have the Media in your pocket.
Republicans do not have that advantage, Nor would they know what to do with it if they did have it.
Yes, they must act like a holes when having to deal with Obama and Reid. We also need someone tough as nails, like Axlegrease to help strong arm what we want done. Otherwise, we will continue to get mowed over by the other side which is much stronger than we are.
It was way more than that, he (Pelosi and Reid) fought much smarter than Republicans the past two years which was critical for his re-election. Here's some examples:
1) Blame everything on GOP House
2) Seemed to cave on Bush tax cuts 2010 (yes, the Pelosi House extended them 2 years), only to set a time Bomb to blow up ~ a week ago and fracture the GOP into a party fighting each other
3) O-care may have been unpopular in 2010 but in 2012 he rolled out all the freebees for his re-election, delaying the tough stuff till 2013.
4) The payroll SS?FICA tax is similar, cut it 2 years before his election, drop it after ward 2013 so SS looks real again.
Summary,
Dems fight like an organized disiplined team that plans victories years ahead, and they use polls results to their advantage. They care about one thing : winning!
Bohner and weak and wants his House R members to like him. Pelosi ruled with an iron fist and when she wanted a bill passed, like back when GWB was POTUS and her libs didnt like it, she made them more scared of her than their D voters. This is how she gained seats two election in a row. Control and a #1 goal to win.
On the other side, Rs go into each battle as if they woke up yesterday reacting to Obama in a predictable way, then caving as public opinion turns against them, then fighting with themselves, the best part is complaining that its the media's fault.
I dont see it getting any better anytime soon.
Mr Obama believes to the death in collectivism. This is his advantage.
The Republicans would sell their mothers and daughters in 5 seconds if threatened or offered money.
Yeah, both parties basically face the same question: rely on turnout from the base, or appeal to the mushy middle. Obama has basically driven a stake through Clintonian “triangulation”. The dream of the left for decades was to overcome the fundamental “center-right” orientation of the American electorate by “organizing” the non-voters from friendly demographics into the voting booths, and that’s exactly what he’s done.
Sarah Palin would’ve been the Republican answer to Obama, because she also would’ve motivated non-voters in the Republican base into the voting booth in record numbers. We still may have lost, however, because after four decades of uncontrolled immigration, the demographics have shifted in their favor. But at least we could’ve seen a true debate with both sides represented by someone who actually believes in their party’s platform.
And what does the Republicans stand for? Statism? The Rats are already defending that position and need the Pubs to make em a sammich.
