sad but true.
On the dole, just as big brudder obozo needed.
Can anyone imagine being out of work and over 50 in this country and trying to find a job which actually pays the bills, medical etc.....lol...Most would have better luck juggling chain saws while roller skating....
> 3 million workers hopelessly unemployed
No problem, they can soon apply to become Obama-Biden’s gun control enforcement informants.
Who are the hopelessly unemployed?
“It’s hard to say exactly who these people might be...”

Hey, I know one!
Mrs. Repeal The 17th worked for 40 years as an administrative-secretarial type and is now coping with the fact that she is a laid-off and unemployable 60 year old.
Not all of them
You have 2 basic categories of the poor.
1) The Needy - people who truly cannot handle a job, mental illness, mental retardation or low IQ. People with unmanaged depression - they simply cannot function without assistance.
2) The Greedy - pretty much everyone else. Why SHOULD they work, if they can get free meals, free housing, free medical care and have their kids off-loaded to a tax-payer provided daycare. They can go to bed when they want, get up whenever they want and answer to no one.
If you have your house provided to you, a “magic card” that can be used to buy free food, clothes, movie tickets or various “bling” - why would you want to give all that up? So you can go to work, take crap from other people, have to give up all the free time you’ve enjoyed - for what? A few extra bucks at the end of the week?
Now, cut the programs and let them skip a couple of meals; you will discover two different types of Greedy folks. You will discover the inner Thuga who feels that they are entitled to the easy life; and you will discover those people who suddenly develop a work ethic.
Shoot the thugs, and put the work ethic people to work doing SOMETHING. We used to employ Street Sweepers, perhaps picking up litter in the parks, perhaps something more useful.
Exactly. There are millions of people who got laid off and simply cannot find another job.
Well, then, some folks will say, get a job at the local supermarket or restaurant.
Sorry, they’re not hiring either. And they’re cutting the hours of the workers they already have.
No doubt some of these people are just unwilling to work. But many or most of them just can’t get jobs in their lifelong field of work—or, often, in any other field, even for a fraction of their former salary.
>>Not all of them<<
Enough of them...
I know the type, they are waiting for a job to come looking for them.
These people are not self starters and need the motivation that can only be provided by leadership and positive morale in the community. And we don't have either.
Try to find one of those cubical jobs, or service jobs which pay 1980s wages, and compete with those in their 20s who are living at home with ma and pa. These positions offer lots of meaningless incentives, prizes and commissions in lieu of real income...
BTW, you'll have to buy your own medical insurance...In fact, you might make a deal with them during your interview process and tell them you'll work for medical benefits and no income....You might have a chance if you're able to smile while being taxed and financially gang raped.
>>No doubt some of these people are just unwilling to work. But many or most of them just cant get jobs in their lifelong field of workor, often, in any other field, even for a fraction of their former salary.<<
People should always be surveying the horizon. I am leaving my comfort zone (I work in IT) to do real-life “cloud” implementations. You can NEVER let the grass grow under your wheels.
No, I did not file for unemployment, food stamps or social security disability.
Yes, I appear to be "hopelessly unemployed" due to my age and a failed bank on my resume, but we will see.
They have a job. They are part of the benefits transfer mechanism of the government that is overburdening the economy and they will vote reliably Democrat in exchange for government assistance.
Is this the Kenyan model?
in that stat would also be those that went Galt
I won’t help nazis. some have no problem funding their unConstitutional propaganda machine... I’m just not one of them
Also irritating is when I see people buying $200+ worth of groceries with EBT cards who can’t speak one sentence in correct English, and are overheard yammering in Spanish or Russian. Why are we subsidizing non-US citizens? One of the qualification requirements for US Citizenship is proficiency in English and knowledge of US Constitution. At least it was that way when I received citizenship. These people obviously do not know both. May be requirements have been relaxed now.
