Washington, D.C. — A pair of polls out this week shows the dire state the Republican Party finds itself in — and a way out of the wilderness, should Republicans choose to take it.

Poll No. 1: Rasmussen Reports found that views of the tea party — the wing of Republicanism that dominates party primaries and therefore the congressional Republican caucuses — at a new low. Only 8 percent of likely voters considered themselves tea-party members, down from 24 percent in 2010. According to Rasmussen (which tends to have a pro-Republican bias), unfavorable views of the movement topped favorable views, 49 percent to 30 percent.

Poll No. 2: Fairleigh Dickinson University found that 73 percent of New Jersey voters approved of the job their Republican governor, Chris Christie, is doing — near his all-time high. Even 62 percent of Democrats approve of Christie, as well as 69 percent of racial minorities and 70 percent of women. The top would-be challenger to Christie in November’s gubernatorial election is trailing him by 33 percentage points

If any Republican, pseudo-conservative entity is expecting me to cast a vote for a northeast fatass liberal masquerading as some kind of conservative because he talks tough to the media, they have another damned think coming.

I will not vote for ANY NE politician AGAIN.....ever.

Anyone who puts the flag at half staff for a druggie shouldn’t even be in office. And IMHO, he’s nothing but a union thug....which explains his love for Obama.

Only if he can lose 250 lbs. We all know when that will happen.

My question would be, is the GOP (DemocRATS Lite) worth saving?

Always love how leftist propagandists offer unsolicited advice as to whom the GOP should nominate for President. In the past decade they have recommended such illustrious folks as John “Reacharound” McCain, Jon (C)Huntsman, Charlie “The Orange Menace” Crist, Slick Willard and now Big Tub O’Guts. Real winners all around.

I suspect that by 2020, Al Sharpton will convert into a Republican, and all the usual suspects will demand we vote for the Sharpton/Farrakhan ticket.

I will never vote for another Democrat or Democrat-lite {if there is anything lite about Christy}
I have lost ALL hope for the Northeast and the West coast of this country. We share NOTHING in common any longer.

Gov. Christie has bankrupted the pension funds of government employees in the State of New Jersey.

He has openly, proudly lied repeatedly about his budgeting priorities and every useful idiot in the media who has lauded his fiscal prowess is a co conspirator in the destruction of the financial footings of the State of New Jersey for the next 30 years.

The man is a shyster, a carnival barker, a clown of a lawyer who has no remorse for destroying the middle class in New Jersey.

And this is who the leftists, media pundits, and moron RINOs want to be the final nail in the coffin of the national Republican party.

Shouldn’t the title of this be “Can Chris
Cristy save the democrat party?”

He sure isn’t a republican.

Christie? The gun-grabbing, self-absorbed fatty who smothers Obama in kisses, and weeps over Bruce Springsteen? Who contorted his face in a juvenile “gag-me-with-a-spoon” expression when a talk-show host asked him his opinion of Sarah Palin?

Worthless bastard.

If Christie is Obama’s opponent in 2016, I’ll either vote third party or go fishing on Election Day.

Let’s face it, Christie IS the face of the GOP. Too bad the GOP left us for a policy of no conservative or moral values.

— Can Chris Christie save the GOP?>>>>>>>>>>>>>

How can Christie save the GOP , which is NOW just a collective of self destruct elitist liberal fascists bent on lining their pockets and retiring. Christie kissed and hugged Obama a few too many times. He is toast.

The future lies with a conservative party, led by people like Sarah Palin, who is unapologetically American. All that there is now to do is to help organize it.

The GOP is self destructing before our very eyes, the fiscal cliff negotiations revealed that fact to America. The GOP purges conservatives, instead of welcoming them and allowing them to change the GOP. The GOP is indeed dead.

So-called Republicans from the NE might as well be Democrats. The answer to the question is no, Christie would just be more of the same.

Fatso was just delivering on his East Coast bona fides, his down-with-your-struggle mastery of the Real Issues, like "Do they have good knishes?" and "Can you get fresh, hot bagels at 2 a.m.?"

East Coast values are inhospitable to America itself, the Tea Party, and people like Sarah Palin. Check this out:

It isn't just Sarah -- Atlantic Seaboard elitists dislike America, check the reader comments.

And there's this comment by Christie-simpatico David Frum:

Frum on Sarah and Tea Party Republicanism in general.

Feel the love. Feel the warmth.

These people would be good Republicans, if they could assimilate to America somehow. I've sometimes thought of them as people who seem to prefer European attitudes about everything .... only after reading these comments and their readers' posts in reply, does it begin to dawn on me, that these are people whose forebears never really stopped being Europeans -- they're still there, with all the Eurosocialist ideals pre-perestroika, the constant romanticizing by PBS program directors and writers of every European and Stateside ethnic Communist who ever lived, and acceptance of all the Moscow-imported, COMINTERN/KGB Active Measures country-destroying propaganda over the last 90 years.

"Face of the GOP" Hmmm...you might be on to something there.

If by "face" you mean someone turning around, bending over, dropping trou and showing you the face of the moon, then yeah, you're absolutely right.

There's no way he recovers from the help he gave obama to win re-election. Outside of NJ and the NE, he's tainted for life.
