Reports say iPhone 5 demand is now half of planned figures. Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) is said to have slashed component orders. The pre-market stock price is falling fast, heading below $500.

On the random occasion where I can actually get the voice commands to work on the iPhone, it doesn't make up for the number of incoherent exchanges like the one you suggested.

I do find that the voice-to-text translation works decently though.

I guess I am kind of silly- I am a writer by trade and there is something about an Mac that makes me write whereas on a PC I can’t.

I thought I would be laughed at if I said it was “cuter”. Still, if it helps me do what I am paid to do and makes me happy.

I FINALLY bought an Apple MACBOOK in 2010 and will NEVER EVER buy another non Apple ever again. Not one single Virus to date. The non Apple Computers are ridden with Virus’ and what a pain that is to try and clean up and that is including Anti-Virus programs. Forget it. You get what you pay for.

Interesting. I don't see the interfaces as being that different. This difference in perception is part of what I find interesting. I have heard of writers who cannot 'create' on a typewriter but do just fine with a pen, of those who prefer a typewriter to a computer, etc. Not being a professional writer, I am reluctant to comment on the matter.

That describes the reason I used (at one time or another) the long laundry list of OS I posted upthread. They all "just work(ed)" ... for whatever task I was trying to accomplish at the time. The same can also be said, for that matter, for some computers I work with that don't even have an operating system.

I agree. I have an IPHONE 4 and will not upgrade until absolutely necessary. I could care less about that voice thingee. Probably will upgrade at about IPhone 10. lol.

Apple is supposedly cutting component orders, except for the most expensive component of all -- the screens. Hmm. Maybe they're over-supplied on the other components or they're switching (or, more likely, diversifying) vendors, but I think a lot of folks are over-reacting.

Seems like every rumor of "weak" iPhone sales is followed up by another record sales and earnings quarter for Apple.

The market now has a reached a level of maturity, that it inevitably was going to reach, where the product life cycle become much longer, because users are happier to keep the product for a longer period of time.

The second I get an iPhone, I put in in an Otterbox case.

I can throw it onto the blacktop and nothing happens.

$50 at BestBuy, cheaper elsewhere online.

The Galaxy Note II is way beyond iPhone 5, which was simply an unnecessary release from Apple - just like the iPad Mini. Now, if they had combined those two devices into a new 5.5" phablet to compete with the Note II, Apple could have had a huge hit - but they misjudged the market.

I think without Steve Jobs, they are going to do that a lot more often.

That’s the word I’m hearing, as well, that the Samsung phones are better. I have neither, but numerous friends have talked about it.
