Yes, thanks for posting that list. I laud these companies, but really, unless these guys directly and actively partner with us the threat grows. If the threat grows, then there is a chance our 2nd Amendment becomes abridged and they go out of business.

We ALL must make a stand, and yes, there may be a cost. Pay now... or pay much more later.

In most shows like this the floor space costs about $5000 for each 10 sq feet you want. So a 20 x 10 booth would cost $10,000 just for the space.

Big companies like Cabella’s easily spend $100,000 on shows like this.

Sounds like Cabela’s will continue to be on my list of stores to shop at. I love their variety and depth of stock, I just wish that there prices were a little lower.

Best boots I ever owned came from Cabella’s catalog, I just trashed them after 36 years. Now I'll be looking for something new that I don't really need.

36 years? That's fantastic, and I thought my 20 year old Cabela's boots (still in service) were great. I have ordered from their catalog many times over the years, and now that they have a store in Reno, I get up there as often as I can.

Just got an answer back:

“Hello xxxxx

Thank you for your comment. We will forward this to our corporate office.

Thank you for visiting cabelas.com and come back soon!

Sincerely,
Mackenzie F.”

Probably an auto-response, but they can’t help notice the pickup in volume.

I recently purchased some ammo from them. They had it when no one else I deal with did.

I just sent them the following from my account to there customer service email.

“Heard you guys pulled out from the
Eastern Sports and Outdoors Show

Because they are restricting AR-15 and High Cap Magazines from being there.

Good for you and us.

I will be doing more business from you.

Thanks, your a great American.

So Shyda's gun shop is not going? I haven't hear that one yet. I am trying to keep track of the companies boycotting. I bought handguns for my two daughters for Christmas from Shyda's in December. I bought the last brick of CCI #500 primers in stock at Trops yesterday.

It seems every place in Central PA is pulling out. They know who their customers are. They know their customer's character. I was shooting at Mechanicsburg Sportsmen's Association (MSA) this afternoon, and the boycott was the "casual" talk of the range ... it came up in a couple of conversations, and once it was determined that everyone was boycotting, it was off to talking about shooting and reloading.

Its possible. Usually the show venue will only provide refunds up until a certain date, usually a few months before the show.

I just sent them a similar message and got a thank you within ten minutes. My guess is that they are seeing a lot of positive in-coming.

Good. I am glad they are supporting the 2nd Amendment.
I will continue doing business with them.
I currently have a sizable backorder for .223 ammo. Hopefully, that will ship out sometime this month.

As for Dick’s Sporting goods, I will never do business with them.

“I recently purchased some ammo from them. They had it when no one else I deal with did.”

I ordered hollow point ammo there early last week and they said it would be shipped within a week or two - so they were taking those orders and knew they would have it. Most places you can’t even backorder now because they don’t know if they will get any or not.

Cabela’s

More and more companies are pulling out. Information is all over the www machine. One place is:

ESOS Boycot

Call me nuts, but there is plenty of time to shut down this show and let the liberal promoter from the UK and the likes of Progressive Insurance and Comcast holding the bag as the only exhibitors.

FRmail me if you are in ... here's the plan: The show is divided into large rooms. On the show's website, they list all exhibitors by room (an interactive map). I will make a list of the exhibitors and their contact details for each room. I will leave out businesses, like the guys selling whirlpools and home stuff, so if any individual goes to the show - if it is still on - has limited if no outdoor related exhibitors to visit.

For the next week or so we will FReep the contacts. CC your friends and build a real grassroots movement.

The promoter needs to be taught a lesson. There are others that are willing to to replace the current promoter. For instance, in September there will be a national outdoors show in Carlisle (about 15 minutes from Harrisburg, with far fewer of Obama's people). The Carlisle show has the potential to be much larger than the Sportsmen's show in Harrisburg. They have more space - it is outdoors - and they have planned swap meets, entertainment, chili cookoffs, and much more.

With a little bit of time over the next week and half we can shut this show down. Over 200,000 people go to this show. It will show that we can organize better than Obama's people. We are smarter, more principled and we know that the fate of our Republic depends on the 2nd Amendment.

Good for Cabela’s. I think Pro Bass is standing firm on their firearms also.

I would think changing the conditions in the contract would void it. I would consider imposing bans that were not listed in the original agreement would make the no refund statement null and void. I hope all of these companies push for refunds and get them.
We have a Cabela’s about 20 miles away, as well as a Gun World (aka Gander Mtn). Lines are insane.
