Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano warned internet users at the Wilson Center this morning that cyberspace was becoming more dangerous as more and more Americans go online.
Every individual on the net is vulner is a potential, uh, opening, Napolitano stated, adding that the internet was a great thing.
We just want to make sure that everyone remains safe and free, she continued. So that requires everyone to take some responsibility, have good cyber-habits, make sure we use the phrase Stop, think, connect.

Well, turn her words 180 from what she’s saying and you’ll have her intentions at least.
In other words, they’re going to restrict the internet somehow.
All in the name of ‘freedom’ as defined by liberals.
Of course, they could ensure the non-use of the internet by adding an image of Wacky Janet wearing a horse collar at fetishfest to every webpage and social media on the interent.
Instant crash.

"Does anyone have an idea of what she is saying? I can't make any sense out of it," I believe if you parse her statements you will find everything she says boils down to "The Government needs total control of ___________ to keep you safe."

Napolitano added that it was most important to push internet users, especially young children to practice what she described as good cyber-hygiene.
Sounds like good advice. I keep a bottle of hand sanitizer handy for occasions where cyber-hygiene is necessary -- e.g. after reading articles about Obama speeches, or Clinton "testifying" on Benghazi. The sanitizer is 70% alcohol. Sometimes, I think it would work better better if taken internally. I'm thinking of keeping a dropper bottle of eye wash handy -- e.g. for when they show pictures of Clinton testifying, or (in extremis) when some FR sadist posts pictures of Helen Thomas.

RE: "Does anyone have an idea of what she is saying? I can't make any sense out of it"
She's leading up to Obama's long-time buddy Cass Sunstein's feeeeeeeelings about (Napolitano's words) "everyone [should] take some responsibility, have good cyber-habits, make sure we use the phrase Stop, think, connect'";
to wit, stop thinking and connect to Free Republic's opponents.
Here's how President Obama's head of the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs and author of "Repulblic.com," Cass Sunstein, describes FreeRepublic.com as "group polarization," where people segregate themselves so effectively online with other like-minded thinkers that they create an echo chamber where the group's worst and most malevolent opinions get reinforced and strengthened. "We might want to consider," Sunstein startlingly told the Times recently, "the possibility of ways of requiring or encouraging sites to link to opposing viewpoints."
He recently left the Administration to return to elite universities where he is an employee.
