Cats Are Evil

Why New Zealand is right to consider banning them in order to save its wildlife.

You know what animal makes a good pet? No animal.

Dogs will bite you to death and then eat your corpse. Snakes will asphyxiate you, escape, infest the Everglades, and eat all its mammals. Pet parrots perpetuate a trade that upends ecosystems, and hamsters pass you dangerous zoonotic diseases. But perhaps the worst pet of all, environmentally speaking, is a cat.

Domesticated cats started out as parasites on human civilization. Unlike other species, and admittedly to their credit, they domesticated themselves. When humans started growing grain, the crops attracted rodents that attracted cats. Wild cats evolved into housecats, and they were quite useful for thousands of years, killing disease-ridden rats and mice and protecting our food stockpiles. But now that we have industrial farming, reliable food storage, and mostly mouse-proof houses, cats are mere parasites again. Playful and often affectionate parasites, sure, and adorable when young, but a scourge on the landscape.

I have seen similiar video of a young girl abusing a horse. The horse defended itself, which made me cheer. That little girl was an angry, nasty piece of work!

Children should learn at a much earlier age not to treat animals as they would a sibling. Cats, dogs, horses - they do not think like we do but sure do recognize an attack against them when it happens. Fights between human siblings, though, are common.

You got that right.

Grew up on a farm. Cats CAN make good pets if you socialize them properly. (really hard to do)

Mostly though, they are mean with a bad attitude.

We never let them in the house, they lived in the barn. They did NOT get fed, that was on purpose. They were there for vermin control. And they ARE the most efficient, effective hunters around. Smart, creative, and down right evil. Would NEVER keep one as a ‘pet.’ But that’s just me.

Now, for vermin control, I keep mini pins and jack russells.

A lot friendlier to people and just as effective as ratters.

Catz are evil, bloodthirsty, wanton killers. I keep 2 as petz.

What does that say about me?

You don't like dogs.....

Not quite so awesome, my only trick is standing on an empty soda can, keeping it intact until I tap it with my fingertips and crush it. And keep my fingertips, mostly.

That and the opposable thumb and tool using thing.

Opposable thumbs are awesome.

Most human pets are carnivores. Says a lot about us as a race.

Don’t get me wrong. Kids are little savages themselves.

I heard some fartgas from PETA that kids need to be TAUGHT to abuse animals.

BALDERDASH. You need to TEACH kids NOT to abuse animals. Teach them NOT to poke the animal in eye, stick fingers up their noses, pull their tails, slap their heads and yank on their ears.

Kids are born savages. Parr of getting civilized is learning how to treat animals humanely.

But in this case, kitty had it coming. Kid rang his bells, you can hear it in the video.

Bottom line here, the kid and cat were having a standoff, the only so called adult in the room was the mom. And Mom was a jerk.

Love dogs. Cried like a baby when I buried Randy in the yard. He was also fairly evil, somewhat bloodthirsty, but easily distracted.

I put up a bird feeder right outside where my catz sun in the morning. Nothing like coffee and a little predator/prey action through the window.

Have they run out of babies to kill?

I expected the author of this article to be an effeminate metrosexual who is scared of cats but it’s actually a whiny harpy; so technically, my first impression was correct.

I love cats and if these people are so worried about the damage we’re doing to the Earth, they’re free to off themselves.

Reminds me of the pseudo intellectual philosophers who call themselves materialists. You see, you don’t really exist, it’s an illusion your mind creates and the reality is that even if you die, the parts that made you still exist; there is no you. Yet again, we don’t see any materialists take this to the logical conclusion and off themselves.

My indoor cats wouldn’t hurt a fly!

They’re cuddly counterparts to some of the most dangerous and feared terrestrial big cat carnivores on the planet.

Cats are just plain good company!

A cat isn't bad because he defends himself against a kid three times his size.

Consider the reverse:

Ready to play?

It’s definitely the idiot moms fault. When cats act like that and are in a hyper play/kill mode, don’t let it play/attack your toddler.

When one of my cat gets like that, it takes some effort to stop him from the disemboweling they try to do with their back legs. I get a few scratches but they crack me up when they get all wound up and then they end up purring in my lap although when the lick me I wonder if they’re tasting me or tenderizing me.

Now, in comes moron mom, what a cute video, kitteh attacks kid, kid slaps cat hard and cat goes for the kill, all the while mommy is taping this for America’s stupidest parents or whatever country this is from.

Send mommy to the local shelter to see if someone will take her.

He lives in New Zealand. My most mouse free years were when a had a few rat snakes living in my sheds. I was fine with them, though my dogs hated, but didn’t catch them. I am sympathetic to the roaming cat thing. Maybe an issue in densely populated areas. But the nation has made it this far. And I’m open to correction, but I’m not aware of extincion to our avian friends by kitties.

My kitty contributes to the household. She keeps the rodents out of the pantry, and last summer while out on her leash she brought me a rabbit to stew.

Plus, she makes for one dandy foot-warmer!

Sorry, go see the video.

Kid was defending himself from the cat.

Cat was the bad guy here, but that crucial part was left out of the gif.

My indoor cats wouldn’t hurt a fly!

My indoor catz love when the junebugs are extant, and I bring some in for them. They crunch them after jumping off of the grand piano to catch them in mid air.

My male indoor cat sits on a dresser and takes a swat at me as I walk out of the bathroom (not realizing that I set up a light to show me his shadow on the far wall). I swat back. He still does it.

Sounds like you need new batteries for your catz.

Lift the tail to install them.
