Of course: Feinstein’s assault weapons ban exempts government officials

Hey, they’ve gotta have someone who can sell high-powered firearms to Mexican drug cartels, amirite? You’ve heard about the 158 weapons you’ll no longer be able to use. But what about the exemptions?

"Not everyone will have to abide by Senator Dianne Feinstein’s gun control bill. If the proposed legislation becomes law, government officials and others will be exempt."

“Mrs. Feinstein’s measure would exempt more than 2,200 types of hunting and sporting rifles; guns manually operated by bolt, pump, lever or slide action; and weapons used by government officials, law enforcement and retired law enforcement personnel,” the Washington Times reports.

The founding fathers would either have laughed that irredeemably dull-witted, hypocritical woman out of office or reached for their muskets.

Worked great in Mexico, let all the narcos take over with the guns gone.

Sometimes I wonder how much more of this Americans will take before there starts a national rebellion demonstrations.

Ah but I don’t see an exception for manufacturers.

The guys in the factory cannot possess assault weapons or normal magazines, so how can they manufacture them for law enforcement, military, and the various armed executive branch militias like DOE SWAT team?

They will need to buy their gear from overseas, or have special Federalized factories.

Right from the start I want to say that I have the utmost respect for law enforcement officers, that being said.
“Mrs. Feinstein’s measure would exempt more than 2,200 types of hunting and sporting rifles; guns manually operated by bolt, pump, lever or slide action; and weapons used by government officials, law enforcement and retired law enforcement personnel,” the Washington Times reports.

Because no one is safer to have these weapons than alcoholic, wife beaters and senile retirees. We the general public are to stupid, too inept, to likely to lose our tempers and do violence. Aint that right Rodney King, Kelley Thomas and countless others. My point is not to belittle or besmirch the many fine professional law enforcement officers in the country,I am just pointing out that they are no better or worse than any other group.

Funny thing, my standard rifle with its standard magazine (read that as an AR with 30 round mags) doesn’t exempt government officials.

What I don't understand is, if they are going to amend the 2nd amendment. Why not make some changes to the 1st amendment?

Don't give the libs so much leniency.

No more protecting the identity of someone who is lying.

No more letting someone hide in the bushes with a camera with one of our enemy waiting to ambush our troops.

No more of the senseless STUPID editorials they pretend as the evening news.

I don't know how our forefathers were so intelligent when they constructed our Constitution. But the idiots in Congress are trying like hell to undo their work.

I would kinda agree here...we are probably moving toward a gun and ammo sector situation...all moved overseas, all charging a significant amount of money for their products, and no legal ramifications to be housed in a country like Columbia.

My humble guess is that both the cops and military will be paying 300 percent more for ammo within four years. If you work as a cop for some state organization...you probably get forty rounds a year for practice at that point. The fed cops might still continue at the same rate. You might see the military set most all troops at twenty rounds of ammo for practice a year.

That’s a long way off. We have maybe a decade of unintended consequences.

Unless the whole shebang comes to an abrupt end.

Not sure. Remember recently FedGov groups as unlikely as the National Weather Service ordered half a billion rounds?

God Bless You For your service past and present! I am angry with none of the fine professionals that risk all to protect us, I am angry with the likes of Feinstein that seek to put us into classes of haves and have nots and can and cants. I see no reason why a well trained civilian is prohibited from having one her restricted weapons, but a well trained peace officer can own one as an individual. If these weapons are so damned unsafe then why not restrict them to on duty law enforcement only? And then lock em up at the station at end of shift.
