Nero and Henry VIII were both
relatively good rulers when they assumed power,
but both became bloodstained tyrants.
Each killed a philosopher who had been a good influence:
Nero compelled Seneca to commit suicide
and Henry ordered Thomas Moore beheaded..

There was a time that the Vatican
owned shares of the Watergate complex in Washington D.C.,
the Pan American building in Paris,
and the Hilton hotel in Rome.

Henry Waterman invented the modern elevator in 1850.
He intended it to transport barrels of flour.

Sir Isaac Brock, the hero of the War of 1812,
was buried four separate times.
He was first buried in a fort,
then in the old Brock monument,
then in a temporary grave after that monument was damaged
in an explosion, and finally laid to rest
under the current Brock Monument.

Hair grows slowest at night.
It speeds up in the morning,
slows in the afternoon,
nd grows faster again in the evening.
Hair grows faster in summer than in winter.

Woke up around 11:30 last night to find the power out.
Went back to bed and woke up around 1:30 to discover it back on.
Needless to say that I am tired.
Going to leave early today, so this will be a post and run.
Move into lurker mode and will watch for pings.

The FR Canteen is ALWAYS

Please stay right where you are.
Keep the troops entertained and the Canteen clean...
Cause...if you don't...I'll tell Ma!

Indeed..! I did like looking at blue skies yesterday. Looks like more sunshine today. It’s 35 here..and not breezy at all. Forecast looks good for mild days for awhile.
