Glad to see it posted, I almost posted that the other day and then didn’t. We all regret what happened to her, but once upon a time she didn’t look too unhappy holding a gun!

RE :”Somebody actually wrote a pro-gun-control article to that effect. She is “depressed” and might suicide if she had a gun, so everybody has to give up guns, or logic to that effect.’

Yes, that makes perfect sense.

Freedom is not free when I am free to hurt myself with a gun.

Plus, if I live after shooting myself Obama-care must patch it up at taxpayer expense , so banning guns is deficit reduction too.
Come on, you pubbies all say you are worried about deficits LOL..

Do it for gabby and the little ones...

Anyone who successfully kills themselves with a gun is likely to have killed themselves by other methods if a gun wasn't available. A firearm is quick and reliable but so is hanging or jumping from a building or bridge if the distance is adequate. I would imagine the guillotine in your illustration is very quick provided it is heavy enough to cut cleanly through the spine.

The question is: Should firearm suicides be placed in the same category with other gun homicides?

I almost forgot the guy I knew who tried to blow his brains out.

Too drunk and only managed to take half of his face off.

If I remember right, if you discount suicide by guns, car fatalities then outnumber gun deaths by double.

Note gray area was this prediction, not actual numbers.

I watched part of her testimony yesterday, but do I even have to guess that not once did she mention the REAL reason she was shot, namely that liberals constantly insist that the mentally ill be allowed to wander the streets even after they pose threats to other people like Mr. Jared Lee Loughner whose own classmates were afraid he was going to shoot them well BEFORE he ever shot Gabby?

If I remember right, the teacher was having a hard time getting that nut even out of his classroom never mind getting him into a psych ward where he belonged. And of course what does he do? What all those people expected him to do: He killed people.

It’s like here in New York city, in the late 90s Rudy Guiliani tried to get all the wackos wandering the street involuntarily committed but armed guard protected millionaire leftists like Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins organized mass protests against this whereas Rudy caved in, so now to this day we still got wackos wandering the streets killing people, like these two lovely individuals:

or this....

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/12/05/naeem-davis-charged-with-murder_n_2245618.html

Both perps seen talking to themselves before. Thank you liberals, and this is two examples just from the past month alone. Oh yes and there was also 2 other individuals who were pushed but survived so in essence we have FOUR people pushed onto subway tracks by wackos in only one month. Thank you Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins for serving your city so well, not that they ever have to take the subway themselves.

I have attempted suicide several times, almost exclusively with pills. The attempts were serious enough to have given me a stroke and complete kidney failure. Just bad luck in being successful, I guess.

The point is, after the first attempt, I was on some sort of list that rendered me permanently unable to purchase a firearm, and I’m way too burnt out on hospital visits and shrinks to attempt anything again. So, in this limited instance, I guess should be thankful to not have access to guns.

I hope you find the strength to resist that sort of thing in the future.

You really have no idea what it does to those that love you.

I know this first hand, as my mother was one of which I speak.

even after 30 years, it is still devastating to me

What’s with the rear sight? I’d smile too if I had an AK with either a huge periscope or a vertical rocket launcher.

It would be very instructive to have stats breaking down the 11,101 homicides into self-defense versus murder, then how many of the “murders” were criminals killing each other. CDC/gov’t is unlikely to reveal this directly, but I wonder if something can be deduced from DOJ/FBI crime stats.

So many anti-gun folks scream about hi-cap mags. I wonder if the is any data to confirm how many deaths occur with shots# 11 through 30, >1, 2 to 5, 5 to 10? Not that it matters, just curious.

No suicides were reported with rounds 11-30, in fact, round one was the round preferred by the majority of all suicide planners.

My preference would be round 30 but only after I got 29 liberal politicial pricks.
