For anyone who sees Mitt Romney's loss in the November presidential election as a harbinger of GOP decline, conservatives have a message - make that two, tellingly conflicting, messages.
One, embodied by the Conservative Victory Project (CVP) - a group backed by Karl Rove's "super PAC" seeking to curb influence from far-right organizations - and spelled out Tuesday by House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-Va.: Our olive branch is ripe, Democrats, and with the right legislation, we're willing to compromise.
The other, perhaps best summarized in paperwork filed today by ousted Rep. Joe Walsh, R-Ill., to create a "super PAC" countering Rove's: The tea party that in 2010 ushered into Washington a wave of staunch conservative ideologues isn't going away.
The Rove group's formation was just the most explicit among intensifying calls to inject discipline into a Congress that has seen unprecedented gridlock, particularly on critical economic issues.

But despite some who believe the tea party peaked with its influx of dogma-driven freshmen in 2010, the grassroots activist group is sounding off about this new push toward the center. Statements from the various factions of the movement have echoed the sentiment expressed on Nov. 7 by Tea Party Patriots coordinator Jenny Beth Martin, blaming President Obama's reelection on the GOP's nomination of Romney - "a weak moderate candidate, hand-picked by the Beltway elites and country-club establishment wing of the Republican Party."

Oh, it’s a Civil War alright. But it’s between Rove, the Democrat Crime Syndicate, and establishment Republicans on one side, and Americans on the other.
- in all likelihood won't run, and
- if she ran would have no chance of winning.
Ashley Judd is getting an early lesson in political mudslinging as she weighs a campaign for the U.S. Senate.
Karl Roves super PAC American Crossroads has launched a pre-emptive strike on the Missing actress, slamming her as an Obama-following, radical Hollywood liberal in a new ad.
Judd, a Democrat, has been publicly flirting with a bid for Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnells seat representing her native state of Kentucky. While McConnell aides and other Republicans have dismissed Judd as too liberal for the red state, the ad suggests shes considered a possible threat by the GOP.
I was called that so many times for not being cozy with the GOPe in this last election, I guess I am one - small government, lower taxes, marriage is a man and a woman, homosexuals will destroy the moral fabric of this country (can you say Sodom), strong defense, guns, guns, guns, high number magazines, hollow point cartridges when necessary, freedom, independence. Yes, I'm a purist and I'm not voting for a candidate who isn't that and I mean it.
Beat me to it. Cantor’s sounding faggish.
bump!
RIGHT THERE IT IS. We leave them to their own absorption into the MarxoFascist Party.
However, that said - DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE the fact that the Ruling Class Judenrat GOP WILL do the bidding of the Obama Left and go to war to destroy Conservatives.
So in that regard, we are in a civil war - however this will be a war for our survival. Conservatives best understand this or they are going to be wiped out - both politically and then... when the time is right - LITERALLY.
I have taken to responding to the ‘purist’ charge as follows...
The opposite of purity is by definition, corruption.
That says it all. If people are willing to compromise their principles to the point that they mock people willing to stand behind theirs, then they are as corrupt as the politicians they bitch about.
It really is that simple. They do not like hearing it. They whine and spout DU style BS to try distracting people from the issue. But it IS the issue. If conservatives compromise their core principles to support moderates, it is basic logic that such people are not conservative.
And they are exactly the reason we are in the mess we are.
LOL!
After WW2 there were Japanese on isolated atolls who never knew for years the Emperor had surrendered.
I guess one of them is writing these stories.
The wars over, conservatives won.
Well have the republican party keep caving into Obama to where there is no option but to do more than just rant and even protest to fix the nation. People will unite to defeat a common foe. They have to at least create a new party for conservatives or unite to defeat the establishment in primaries. But as the government encroaches on our rights and if republicans do nothing then it will be past the point of inaction. having said that, while people will agree the establishment needs be finished, they won’t agree on what to do afterwards. “Unorganized chaos” might ensue.
That's the way it was played with Romney ~ 16 candidates all told, only 3 of them lifelong Conservative Republicans. Romney's 22% looked viable against the 2% or 3% the other GOP-e candidates could pull.
...same goes for the mass media...
...only they've had a MUCH bigger agenda all along.
Mass media declared war on traditional conservatism more than 4 decades ago, but have been patient. The last hardcore resistance to achieving their goal is/was the WWII generation, with their passing whats now left is 3 generations of mostly programmed bots. What's deliberately been portrayed in the mainstream media as a "naturally evolving societal progress"...was entirely a preplanned and thoughtfully executed syllabus of social re-engineering.("fundamental transformation" if you will)
At this point can anything less than a complete(and inevitable)social/financial collapse causing a spiritual awakening/revival turn this Titanic away from it's destined path? I seriously doubt today's "entitled" society would be able to stand up to that kind of challenge the way their ancestors did.
Conservatives(mostly of my baby-boomer generation), for whatever reason(perhaps consumed with their own indulgences), ignored lessons learned from previous generations...and allowed the lunatics to take over the asylum.
The time for action is WAY overdue...but forget politics, it's a waste of time and resources, most now are just puppets for their masters special interests, not America's. Expose them for who/what they are, yes...but don't let that be a distraction from the REAL fight.
Instead, it's time for a counter-attack strategy on the REAL enemy, that one starts with a full assault on the media and the education system.
That's where the(cancer)seed was planted, and that's where it must begin to be eradicated. The easiest, most peaceful way of course is to simply starve(de-fund)the beast.
Me too. Let the Establishment Pubbie Pricks play with themselves. I will be looking for conservatives to support and I hope someone will step up and start a real conservative party.
Yeah!
a limp wristed fancy lancer. I bet he eats cheese.
There were enough of them on the ballots to still make Romney look good, but I don’t consider Democrats and Libertarians to actually be ‘moderates’ ~ first of all, there is no middle in American politics, and there are no ‘moderates’. That crowd are all hard core professional politicians and are ready and willing to do the bidding of the first big dog who comes along. Romney was their big dog.
All you need to do either one is form a new national committee and invite the state parties to send delegates for an organizing meeting.
