'Betrayed': Male rape victims slam Oscar-nominated filmmakers over focus on women
NBC News ^ | Bill Briggs

Two male rape survivors who appear in "The Invisible War," an Oscar-nominated documentary about military sexual assaults, are criticizing the movie's brief focus on male victims as an ironic snub — and, in a fiery diatribe, one of the film's characters says the director "should be ashamed and embarrassed."

I’m not giving NBC the hit, but I’m guessing this is male-o-male rape? Homo-rape?

We can’t make males a victim group, now, can we?

This is one paragraph:

Navy veteran Brian Lewis — who was raped by a male, senior non-commissioned officer in 2000 and then discharged from the Navy shortly after reporting the attack — said he and Matthews are disturbed that the film’s fleeting attention on male victims, both on screen and in promotional tactics, symbolizes the way male sex-assault survivors have been marginalized by society and by some lawmakers investigating the issue of rapes within the armed forces. Lewis has a 10-second soundbite in the documentary.

“Navy veteran Brian Lewis — who was raped by a male”

I guess you have to spend time in prison to understand how this happens.

The article says 9000 women are raped, but 10,000 men are raped. The media DO NOT want to publicize the current level of homosexual rape in the military.

Seems men would be more able to fight back against rape than most women. How do these rapes happen?

Bingo.

It’s always been a problem. Read extensively on the navy during WWII.

That’s right...the genteel, harmless, bunny-rabbit like, perpetually oppressed and always victimized homosexual male would never do something like rape another man. For another example of something the press never reports, research the statistics on pedophiles: those who target their own sex verses those who target the opposite sex.

Here’s a link to the website for the guys making the movie about male-on-male sexual assault in the military.

http://www.justicedeniedmovie.com/

They said that a lot of the times it’s a gang-rape situation and sometimes the victim is actually drugged.

I gave them a donation. This issue needs to be brought into the light.

“Prison rape” is a punchline. Women find it particularly tittersome.

Prison, yes, but really anywhere men live in isolation together. Boarding school, for instance, or I imagine army barracks, subs, etc. It’s not something that occurs to people immediately, but reference “The Shawshank Redemption,” or something similar, and it becomes obvious.

People have automatic responses for that. They’ll say disregarding the sex of the child most pedophiles are heterosexual. Meaning they live as heteros, married or otherwise presenting to the world preference for women. But why would you ignore the sex of the child? How can someone who has sex with teenage boys, for instance, be considered straight? Wouldn’t they be bisexual at least?

They’ll answer rape is about power, not sex. Which is idiotic. You try robbing a bank while maintaining an erection. Sex is about sexual pleasure. If it doesn’t matter who you rape, that means your a sadistic and pansexual. But if you rape boys, might you not be sexually attracted to males? Certainly you’re not merely acting out violence with your gwnitals instead of a knife, or whatever. You are getting something out of it.

As you seem to not be too much on the bright side regarding violence of any sort, let me explain a few things to you.

There are things called weapons. Bayonets, K-Bar knives. Wire connected to two sticks to make a garrot. The use of these things on someone without them generally renders their fighting back ineffectual and possibly fatal.

Two people outnumbering one person generally wins - other things being equal.

Someone who is on their way back to the barracks after imbibing adult beverages at the club isn't going to fare well against someone sober.

I don't know where you got the idea that being male makes one invincible, but it is not a concept connected in any way to reality.

One more reality, (from someone who went in during the Iranian Crisis and served til after the first Gulf War) : rape has always been a severe risk for prisoners captured in Islamic conflicts regardless of sex.

More apt, yes, and more successful one on one. But all it takes is ganging up on them. Not even trained killers can necessarily fight off three assailants, especially if they’re also trained killers. Or they can be coerced into sex with something held over their heads.

This is difficult for me to even comprehend, because as an Army MP in the 1980s I never heard of such things happening, and MPs knew all the dirt every place I was stationed. I know the Army covers up a lot of wrongdoing, and I myself was ordered to stand down and not apprehend a commissioned officer or senior NCO on more than one occasion, but everybody knew about those kinds of incidents. Anything even remotely suggestive of homosexuality back then would make a soldier persona non grata and probably investigated and thrown out of the service.

I just can’t imagine any of the NCOs or Officers that I served under protecting a degenerate rapist. And if the chain of command didn’t address an issue, it usually got settled with “NCO Justice” or peer-administered “non-judicial punishment”. I knew of barracks thieves and adulterers who had mysterious “training accidents”, and of course there were always stories about soldiers settling scores in the field with an e-tool across the head.

I guess my point is, in the military everybody knows what’s going on, and in my era soldiers tended to stick up for each other and take care of things even when the Army didn’t. The only thing more disgusting to me than the idea that the ranks are full of degenerate sexual predators is that nobody is speaking out, much less doing anything this reprehensible behavior.

Can’t be male-on-male rape - homos don’t do that. The men of our military are safe from such threats...

Just don’t pick up the soap in the shower...
