Why Are the Feds Loading Up On So Much Ammo?
Investor Business Daily ^ | February 8, 2013 | Andrew Malcolm

In a puzzling, unexplained development, the Obama administration has been buying and storing vast amounts of ammunition in recent months, with the Department of Homeland Security just placing another order for an additional 21.6 million rounds.

Several other agencies of the federal government also began buying large quantities of bullets last year. The Social Security Administration, for instance, not normally considered on the frontlines of anything but dealing with seniors, explained that its purchase of millions of rounds was for special agents' required quarterly weapons qualifications. They must be pretty poor shots.

But DHS has been silent about its need for numerous orders of bullets in the multiple millions. Indeed, Examiner writer Ryan Keller points out Janet Napolitano's agency illegally redacted information from some ammunition solicitation forms following media inquiries.

According to one estimate, just since last spring DHS has stockpiled more than 1.6 billion bullets, mainly .40 caliber and 9mm. That's sufficient firepower to shoot every American about five times. Including illegal immigrants.

To provide some perspective, experts estimate that at the peak of the Iraq war American troops were firing around 5.5 million rounds per month. At that rate, DHS is armed now for a 24-year Iraq war.

When do you expect ammunition to become readily available to citizens again? If the shelves are still empty a year from now should we be nervous?

“Doesn’t add up to me.”

I agree! It’s a confusing situation, to which I don’t know the answer. Just reporting what I’ve heard.

There is an ammo shortage because the average Joe is buying it to go with all the new guns they are buying.

Which in my opinion is good. You can never have too many guns or much ammo.

In my opinion there will be shortages as long as there is a dem or gun grabbing RINO in the WH.

Exactly what I was thinking.

See #52. Seems the government is buying up the ammunition as fast as it’s being made.

The rate of current ammunition delivery to civilian agencies exceeds the peak consumption rate of the entire US military during the Iran and Afghan wars. Most of that ordinance is .40 caliber hollow-point, which is quite distinctive, and not particularly suited for most military activities.

If the ammunition is going outside the US, that much material should become visible in short order.

I'm going with the obvious - the Feds are planning on shooting a lot of American citizens.

Then you need to check and see if there is anything abnormal about what cal and how much the military is buying to see if it is to affect the supply.

If there is a record of all different cal from all different mfg. being bought, then I would agree it’s to affect supply. Right now I just don’t see any evidence it’s to affect the supply.

I also don’t buy the “PRACTICE AMMO” BS because the ammo is premium ammo. If they have switched to 5 year contracts instead of one year to save money, why would they use the expensive premium ammo to train some Fed LE recruit how to shoot.

If the idea is to save money then you would use cheaper ammo for practice.

They intend to use the ammo, the question is for what. They are pushing peoples buttons for a reason.

Office of Odometer Fraud Investigation - NHTSA (OFI)

I wonder how many taxpayer billions are spent on this office?

IMO soon the jig will be up regarding the real shape our country is in.
When people can't get 2 years of unemployment...
When they won't be able to give out welfare like candy on Halloween...
When there is no money except what they can take from others for Federal and State employees...

Maybe that is what all the bullets are about.
2nd Amendment is about protecting yourself and also against tyrany IMO, so maybe there is some fight coming we don't all know about.

I'm going with the obvious - the Feds are planning on shooting a lot of American citizens.

Plan accordingly.

Bear in mind however that there are over 30 civilian agencies with armed security forces (Really? The National Weather Service?). Many of these agencies are working at cross-purposes and one should not assume unified direction or even competent management.

A lot of material is going to go missing as it stacks up unattended in supply depots. When it starts turning up in the hands of NBBP or La Raza affiliates, it seems possible that we will see Federal agencies firing on each other.

There are an unofficially estimated 220,000 armed Federal agents in civilian agencies as of 2012. That might be enough to control a hostile population of about 20 million people, assuming unified command and regular paychecks to the security forces.

The Federal agencies do not have unified command and will tear themselves to shreds with internal security probes if even one staffer goes rogue. The growing firestorm inside the LAPD over Christopher Dorner should provide a perfect demonstration.

State and Metropolitan police forces may not see regular paychecks either. Budget cutbacks and actual layoffs of sworn officers are increasing. A small percentage of the discarded people will be very hostile to the Government-in-place. They will have training and experience to cause a lot of damage if they turn.

The "Feds" at certain incompetent political levels may indeed be planning to shoot a lot of American citizens. Bill Ayers (who started Obama's political career) opined that a fundamental transformation of America to a socialist state might require killing 25 million Americans. He seemed pleased at the idea.

The elites backing Obama are definitely planning a fundamental transformation of this country and are quite open about it now.

But big plans often go awry.

Nothing "puzzling" about that, and the headline is a joke.

The federal government is preparing to suppress or kill people like me.

The only defense is to hope they attempt to do it wholesale, rather than one at a time.

All Dictators Need Their Own Police Force.

Roman Emporers had their Praetorian Guard.

Hitler had the Waffen-SS.

Saddam Hussein had the Republican Guard.

Iran has the Revolutionary Guard.

In 2006 Obama made the following speech:

“We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.”

Obama is building his “Civilian National Security Force” under the cover of Homeland Security.

That way he won't have to worry if the real military will remain loyal to the constitution or will fire on civilians, shoot their own mothers and fathers, lock up their own grandparents.

Obama's “Civilian National Security Force” will hold their allegiance to him and his loyal assistants like Janet Napolitano.
