On opposite sides of the world, the brother and sister sat transfixed before their computers, reading a stranger's account of long-ago secrets and deeply buried sins.
The memo was just four pages long, about an incident in 1963 at a Boy Scout camp in New Jersey. A Scout executive had gotten drunk during an overnight outing, then was discovered gambling with a group of boys. But there was more.

If the law were changed to allow the parents of any molested scout to weld the punishment then I would be for gays in there. My Dad was very involved with our Scouting experience in the late 60’s and 70’s. he and the other Dads did not tolerate the one or two light in the loafers guys who flitted around our group when at camp.
One of those guys went on to be one of the worst abusers in New England. I recall my Dad speaking to one of the other Dads years later agreeing they should have beaten the snot out of the guy years before.
is there any way to read more than just the first page?
If you click on the left edge of the page, it will forward to the next page. Weird website setup.
Oops! I meant click on the RIGHT edge of the page...
Just tried and NO it won’t. Since you got in, what did it say?
The crime is when young scouts are deprived of an education from homosexuals.
</sarcasm>
Here is a link so you can read the whole thing
Couldn’t get that to work for me. Wonder where they found web designers that incompetent.
American Maoists demand fewer perverts in the Catholic Church and more in the Boy Scouts. These Maoists never seem to be satisfied with the pervert ratios.

So why didn't they beat the living shit out of him at this point?
"Gray continued to drink, grew agitated and attempted to hit someone. Adult Scouts then subdued him and eventually he fell asleep."
If not earlier, why not now? (He's subdued, here's a chance to point out his mistakes.)
Funny how you never hear about stuff like this happening 100 years ago.
You never hear about stuff like this happening a hundred years ago because people refused to discuss it. It was too awful and embarrassing to those involved. But such things did happen.
If you read on, the BSA isn't that much different than the Catholic church in how they both handled these perverts. It was just swept under the rug, no charges filed and the pervert is free to go somewhere else and continue to molest and rape.
There is a teeny weeny arrow to click, really hard to see.
Hah! You should’ve been in Scouts in the 50’s. Almost to, a swinging d!ck, they had served in the Big One (to borrow a phrase from Dobie Gillis) and they were entirely unsympathetic to any whining or moaning from us as when it went below zero at Joshua Tree National Monument in January of ‘58. Did we freeze our asses off? You bet! But it made us stronger mentally and psychologically.
Queers? Yeah, they were present in the priesthood even back then, but, we 13-year-olds had a jungle telegraph about which one to stay away from.
In the Scouts? Don’t remember any thing close. Probably because ‘Chuck’ Bossun and the other scout leaders scared the piss out of them.
I didn't see anything on the edges, but just tried clicking once on the right edge, and it paged forward. It worked both going forward and on the right edge to return to the previous page. Pretty crummy page design for sure.
“A Scout executive had gotten drunk during an overnight outing, then was discovered gambling with a group of boys.”
Standing rule in my troop was the scoutmaster’s camp was off limits after 9:00pm. They used throw back cases and see they could get the campfire hot enough to melt beer bottles.
Good times!
Thanks.
