GOProud’s exclusion from CPAC sparks burst of support for gay conservatives

The Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) is less than a month away and the now-annual kerfuffle over the participation of gay conservative group GOProud was in full swing on Twitter this weekend.

When GOProud co-sponsored CPAC in 2011, several conservative groups boycotted the conference. Later that year, the American Conservative Union’s board of directors voted to exclude GOProud from formal participation in 2012 and the welcome mat is still rolled up.

Naturally, the liberal media presented this as unimpeachable evidence of the Right’s “H8″ and intolerance. But among conservatives on Twitter, there’s little controversy over whether to embrace gay conservatives as allies in the fight against the progressive agenda.

The Democrats came up with “GOProud” for the same reason they came up with “Westboro Baptist Church” - - to smear genuine conservatives.

If you support the “gay agenda”, you are no conservative

Depends how you define left and right. Some people see consistently small government as the consistent position.

Pro-gay marriage, open borders, pro-abortion, pro-drugs. These aren’t “Conservative” stances.

to embrace gay conservatives

Uh, no thanks. On so many levels, starting with the imagery. Not interested in getting them into the tent, so to speak, to move the conversation their way. How many homosexual conservatives are there who insist on waving a banner about it? Now that we're on the subject, how many homosexuals are there at all?

There's no way to make the world safe for homosexuality. It's a problem of conflicted, nutty people, many of whom are very likable. (And many of whom aren't.) To make the whole slate of psychological problems associated with sodomy into your identity? I don't care if you're a Democrat or Republican. To bring that stuff into the national conversation about the destiny of our society and our republic—isn't that on a par with interrupting a speech on economics to talk about the bowel movement you had this morning? Sorry about your family and moral problems, seriously. We all have some—maybe not those problems, but some. Your intimate issues are yours, and please don't talk about them in public. It's narcissistic and crazy. It's obscenity.

“Sodomite Soda”apparently is some kind of new soft drink created by the left to foul GOP RINO progressives, who are fouled enough anyway. They handed the nation horrible losses and horrible candidates in both 2008 and 2012, and they should by held accountable by resigning en masse, including Karl Rove, who wants to hand out more of the same.

We need to get rid of or separate from the RINO Country Club that has the GOP in its death grip. These RINOS have not only alienated Hispanics, they have managed to alienate the conservative base by hitherto surrendering GOP conservative party principles to the so called gay lobby of the GOP.

There is no gay lobby to the GOP. Sexuality is no basis for the creation of political power. It leads nowhere good in our Republic, ever.

CPAC not inviting GOProud is like Karl Rove not inviting Lindsey Graham to a RINO event

Lots of GOP....none of the conservative

Bump.

Excellent reply.

Now that we're on the subject, how many homosexuals are there at all?

Not very many. Queers: "We are the 3.4%."

I am as concerned about the “gay conservative” vote as I am about the unicorn and leprachaun vote.

As long as their agenda doesn’t involve forcing anything on anybody, I can think of no reason to ban them. What they do in their own homes is none of our business.

The problem is they can't shut up about their agenda. Proud of what? That they can't distinguish between an exit orifice and an entrance orifice?

If I were to start a group called "We love intercourse in the missionary position! (WLIMP)" there would be a much bigger pool of potential voters. But they'd also rightly think I was a goofball for starting such a group.

You're batting .750. Drug relegalization - which is no more "pro-drug" than tobacco legality is "pro-tobacco" - is the conservative position, given that the only demonstrable effect of the War on Drugs is to hyperinflate drug profits and channel those profits into criminal and terrorist hands.
