The Washington Post's Bob Woodward ripped into President Barack Obama on "Morning Joe" today, saying he's exhibiting a "kind of madness I haven't seen in a long time" for a decision not to deploy an aircraft carrier to the Persian Gulf because of budget concerns. "Can you imagine Ronald Reagan sitting there and saying, 'Oh, by the way, I can't do this because of some budget document?'" Woodward said. "Or George W. Bush saying, 'You know, I'm not going to invade Iraq because I can't get the aircraft carriers I need?'" Or even Bill Clinton saying, 'You know, I'm not going to attack Saddam Hussein's intelligence headquarters,' ... because of some budget document?" The Defense Department said in early February that it would not deploy the U.S.S. Harry Truman to the Persian Gulf, citing budget concerns relating to the looming cuts known as the sequester. "Under the Constitution, the President is commander-in-chief and employs the force. And so we now have the President going out because of this piece of paper and this agreement. 'I can’t do what I need to do to protect the country,'" Woodward said. "That’s a kind of madness that I haven't seen in a long time," he said. Woodward's harsh criticism came after he stirred controversy last weekend by calling out Obama for what he said was "moving the goal posts" on the sequester by requesting that revenue be part of a deal to avert it.

Woodward . . . ain’t this the guy who interviewed CIA Director William Casey AFTER HE DIED? And isn’t this the moron who started the disgusting accusations that J. Edgar Hoover was a cross dressing homosexual? Wasn’t that trash also discussed by a dead William Casey?
Why is anyone paying any attention to this filthy liar?

Before Conservatives get too excited about Bob Woodward they ought to remember Woodward is not wrapped too tightly himself. He wrote a book in which he claimed he had extensive interviews with ex CIA director Casey while Casey was in his hospital death bed. Casey’s family who was constantly at his side absolutely denied Woodward was ever there. Obama is of course a dangerous petulant narcissist but conservatives didn’t need Woodward to tell us. Woodward knows that the MSM, especially the WAPO, NYT, NBC, PBS, CBS ABC have been so in the tank for Obama that current “journalists” are beginning to realize their will be a backlash and they will be the subject of ridicule by historians and younger journalists. Woodward is just trying to get ahead of the curve and protect his “reputation.”
He needs to name the “very senior white house person” that warned him that he’d regret what he’s doing.
I doubt it. Woodward, for all his faults, is aware of both his place in history and obama's grotesque ineptitude*. Woodward wants a legacy that says, "I told you so." The rest of the media has no such grasp of history or precedent and can't see past tomorrow morning's breakfast. Like the spoiled children they are, they care about getting their way, "right now," and have little interest in anything beyond that.

*by Obama's "ineptitude," I mean with regards to filling the Constitutionally mandated role of POTUS. As a destroyer of the Constitution and traditional American culture, he's perhaps as competent as one can be.
Woodward is now saying that high level white house officials are threatening him over this.

Look at it this way, if Obama crosses whatever final line Woodward has, Woodward has no pretense to make up whatever crap he wants to take someone down.
Our side can just sit back and enjoy the show (and maybe throw some red meat out every once in a while).
