Well, it might cause profs of Middle Eastern Languages to choke on their lattes in the faculty lounges.

I must rewatch it because I definitely did NOT hear anything about Jacob's name change, but things were flying by sort of out of context that if one didn't understand the whole story, one would certainly wouldn't know it after watching the program.

Especially, most non-bible readers or students of the bible wouldn't bother to watch this moe than once.

OK I watched the first half again real close. Several things. First of all Sodom. In the background scenes in the shadows was the sin including a man dancing or embracing his sheep. It also showed Sodom to be a pretty corrupt people when Lot was taken captive there earlier and rescued by Abraham.

The narrator in the movie did give bloodline of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob whom GOD would rename Israel. This explanation came after the test of sacrificing Isaac. They did explain that part but did not make Jacob's story a scene in the movie itself.

I enjoyed it and I feel we should be glad this even made the satanic TV. I will watch the Ten Commandments for Easter.

I disagree with you wholeheartedly.... anyone who promotes the Word of God is worthy to me..even if they cannot meet your stringent standards. I guess anyone trying to produce a religious program is damned if they do and damned if they don’t.

Were you actually there during the destruction of Sodom? Your snarky negative comments about this production really are quite stunning. If you truly are a Christian, you should be happy to see this type of programming as opposed to more of the “Bachelor”, “Kardashians” and other such tripe.

Sorry, friend, these aren't my stringent standards, they happen to be the standards of Holy Scripture, no less.

While I am wholeheartedly in favor of wholesome, family-friendly programs (I have never watched the programs you cite so am dependent on your expertise on same, that it is trash and the reason I refuse to tune in to pop programming) but I would like to see the Bible correctly, according to it not to me, presented and not having important scripture either left out totally or misused entirely.

This is not for my benefit but rather for those who have never and may never read a page in the Scriptures.

Too bad others, who do read Scripture, and I'm assuming you are a student of the Bible, aren't saddened to see scripture abbreviated or Cliff Noted.

So sorry my comments seem to insult you. Did you have any part in producing the program?

I apologize if you did for I do not intend my comments a personal insult either to the producers, directors or others who had any creative interest in it.

My comments are those of someone that desires the actual facts written at the inspiration of God.

We have enough distortions today of the Holy scriptures by those who either don't believe them or those who have a vested interest in their distortions, like the gay activists who claim there is nothing in scripture that condemns homosexuality, for instance.

Since you are happy with the program even if it omits important parts or skims over important facts, watch it and enjoy it to your heart's content but leave critiques to me and others and for heaven's sake don't take my words or the words of others as a personal insult, even it you are involved in its production.

12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

Sadly, you have fallen prey to a medieval misinterpetation of this scripture. The "Lucifer" (literally the "light bringer", i.e. the planet Venus) of Isiah almost certainly refers to the city of Babylon ("weaken the nations", " exalt my throne above the stars of God", etc.). Several medieval interpreters confused this with a commentary on Satan (which is easy to do in an imperfect Latin translation)... but if you look at the context (starting with verse 4, which specifically mentions the king of Babylon), this verse is about the kingdom of Israel victorious over its former oppressors.

This is the only place where the the metaphorical term "Lucifer" is used... making it highly unlikely that it is an appellation for the Devil (who is called Satan in just about every other case in the O.T.). So, unfortunately, I don't think your scripture applies (though the sentiment is sound)...

So where are the Israelites crossing the Red Sea? Not at Ismalia, they only have to go a few miles south of lake timsab to open land. From Dahab they crossed the Red Sea to Saudi Arabia then went north to Ezion-geber then to Jordan and into the Promised Land. Oh and “all” the chariots, horses and Men are still at the bottom Red Sea.

Yep, his final "judgement day" will be harder but he's already had his judgement day at F.R. - zotted.
