Our government threatens to fine job creators in a bad economy. Our government threatens to fine a company that’s raised wages four years running. Our government threatens to fine a family for running its business according to its beliefs. It’s not right. I know people will say we ought to follow the rules; that it’s the same for everybody. But that’s not true. The government has exempted thousands of companies from this mandate, for reasons of convenience or cost. But it won’t exempt them for reasons of religious belief.
So, Hobby Lobby and my family are forced to make a choice. With great reluctance, we filed a lawsuit today, represented by the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, asking a federal court to stop this mandate before it hurts our business. We don’t like to go running into court,but we no longer have a choice. We believe people are more important than the bottom line and that honoring God is more important than turning a profit.

I read an article that stated that if an employee was a contract employee, they would be covered by Obamacare. I suggest Hobby Lobby explore that option, if it’s true. Make every employee an entrepreneur.
It’s safe to shop Hobby Lobby. It looks like our money will not go to supporting evil even if they lose in court. I’ll be going there this weekend.
Muslim businesses are exempt, Christians are not.. That is all we need to know about Obama.

As the former owner of a ‘piece meal’ work mechanic shop...they have labor laws heavily monitoring that.
Its not too difficult to track down online if a business has Islamic support, funding or ownership.
And its not beyond the possibility to out such a business in a social spotlight.
Personally I do not see any court in this country granting them relief in any way, They should probably save their money and just close up shop, sell off their assets and RETIRE. Tell everybody in a very public way, go see OBAMA to get your EBT card. Pretty frickin SAD.
I’d never heard of Hobby Lobby until I moved to Kentucky in 2011. The place is awesome! It beats the heck out of Michaels, et-al. This would be a shame, but I applaud them.
It is amazing that the United States has come to this regarding religious freedom. And I’ve been a memeber of a couple of very liberal sites for years. The vile (and its volume) towards Christianity by “mainstream” liberals is frightening. No, frightening is not the right word, but you get the gist.
I’ve read that myself. Muslims and the Amish are the only exempt religious groups.
Christians are going to have to rise up and fight this enmasse to beat this thing. The problem is that conservatives are too busy infighting amongst themselves that they are losing badly.
To be frank, I think Hobby Lobby may be upping the stakes for the president. Lets be frank, here. If Hobby Lobby does in fact become a martyr - and if they close, they definitely will - the entire social/political landscape of this country will change. It will almost be a “remember the Alamo” sort of thing. It will be crystal clear: The FedGov put a thriving company out of business due to Obamacare.
Move to Texas. Refuse to comply. Make 0bama send in the federal marshalls to TRY to enforce his edicts.
