Expert: U.S.Doing No Favors in Giving Israel Special Ally Status
Arutz Sheva ^ | 6/3/13 | Gil Ronen

The U.S. is not doing Israel any favors by granting it special status as a strategic ally, according to New York based strategy expert Mark Langfan. He predicts a domino effect in which other U.S. allies in the region would collapse, if, G-d forbid, Israel does..

"Without Israel, Cyprus and Saudi Arabia are toast," Langfan told Arutz Sheva, "and they know it."

"Without Israel, oil would be $1,000 a barrel. Without Israel, the US would have to fund an extra $200 billion yearly defense budget to defend southern NATO countries from a Muslim caliphate's northward tsunami."

Following reports of an AIPAC initiative to secure special "strategic ally" status for Israel, Middle East security analyst Langfan said, "Without Israel’s order of battle and very existence, it would be impossible for NATO to defend Greece, let alone Cyprus, from a Turkish/Muslim Brotherhood tidal wave which would lay waste to everything in the eastern Mediterranean. Whether NATO likes it or not, Israel is a now the heart and soul of NATO’s southeastern flank.”

Langfan also noted that Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan issued a direct threat on NATO when he warned on September 27, 2011, "I recommend the international community take the necessary lessons from the Battle of Preveza.”

The Battle of Preveza was a 1538 decisive Turkish/Ottoman naval battle against a Papal “Holy League” Pan-Christian Alliance.

“NATO and the entire EU now have an absolute vested interest against the establishment of an autonomous Palestinian state in the 'West Bank,'" Langfan added. "It has become abundantly clear that if such a state was in existence Hamas would smuggle in thousands of Katyusha rockets with chemical warheads that have the power to wipe out the entire Tel Aviv coastal plain that holds 5 million Jews – in one evening."

“New York based strategy expert Mark Langfan”

“Expert” - someone more than 50 miles from home who is being paid WAY too much to pontificate about something in which he bears no responsibility or liability for his pronouncements.

Erdogan will eventually be whacked by some even worse Islamofascist, and I'm going to laugh and laugh when it happens.

Methinks Mr. Erdogan needs to take the necessary lessons from another sea battle that happened 33 years after Preveza.

How does one get to be a “strategy expert”, anyway? I would love to get paid for such mental drooling.

As to the “northward tsunami”, this guy is bonkers. He needs to realize that Islam only has such power as the corrupt Western elites lavish upon it. They have artificially inflated Islam in a cynical attempt to seize power by undermining and deconstructing Western culture. As long as it is working-class men and women in Malmo or Luton who are under attack, the elites won't care. But let their privileged lifestyles be threatened, and things will change very quickly. It wouldn't take much for Europe to cast Islam back into its litter box in the desert.

Saudi Arabia is no more an "ally" of the U.S. than China is. In both cases, the U.S. maintains very cordial relations -- and in the case of Saudi Arabia, we even prop up a radical Islamic totalitarian regime -- because they use U.S. dollars as the currency of trade.

I'm not sure what kind of point this "strategic expert" is trying to make. When you look at the small size of Israel and the lack of any natural resources or commodities over there that Americans need in abundance, it's hard to conclude that there is anything of consequence at risk for the U.S. there.

I'm open to correction, but I believe the Turkish fleet at Previza was commanded by Sinan "the Hebrew" Reis. Maybe throwing his family out of Spain wasn't such a good idea.

SA is an ally in the sense that Bin Ladenites would love to take over. The Saudi ruling kleptocracy would be murdered outright. The Saudis are scum, but they have a vested interest in not going too far with us, whereas AQ would know no restraint.
