Labour MP David Lammy has apologised after accusing the BBC of being racist following its tweet which said "LIVE VIDEO: Chimney of Sistine Chapel as conclave votes for #Pope - will smoke be black or white?"
Lammy replied saying: "This tweet from the BBC is crass and unnecessary. Do we really need silly innuendo about the race of the next Pope?"
However, after receiving several messages alerting him to the fact that black smoke appears from a Vatican chimney when no decision has been made, and white smoke alerts the public to the election of a new Pope, the politician realised his mistake.
He tweeted: "Note to self: do not tweet from the Chamber with only one eye on what you're reading. Sorry folks, my mistake."
will this race card and being victim ever stop.?
I;m so sick of this crap, not just a few years there was common sense and no onewanted to be a victim but alas today it seems millions of people like playing victim and then using the race, card, the religion card, the homosexuals card ,the what ever card is out there today.
Why can;t people get on wiht life and stop taking words or actions so serious?
Honestly I am so sick of all of this, rememebr when sticks and stones may break my bones but will never hurt me.
That is something I raise my kids with, who cares if someone who I couldn;t careless about calls me a name, I;ve been called all sorts and back then one could getting away wiht sorting thta foolk out but today we all have to cry, or supposed to cry, well not me or my family, we’re not victims regardless of what past there is.
Nailed it!
Nailed it!
It may not be tattooed in ink but it’s written all over Zer0’s face.
I think a reform campaign to alter Chess rules is needed to redress this obvious injustice. Which goes first could be randomly determined, but then that might still mean there would be "movement first color injustice", as randomly black might still come last all the time. A better solution would be to alternate who goes first (starting with black, to compensate for centuries of "racist movement initiation").
