One of the comments from a Post's reader:

Sounds like damage control at the official state-run newspaper since the poll results didn't pan out like you had hoped.
Nevertheless, the DP should rejoice at the certain increase in traffic in spite of the mediocre product.

“They're notorious for pushing results of online polls in one direction or another — notably on Second Amendment issues.”

Outstanding freepers, keep up the Great work. Let them all know that we are here, ready, willing and able to fight for our rights.

Assuming state House Bill 1224, which limits gun magazines to 15 rounds, will become law, how would you vote on a 2014 ballot measure to overturn it?

Total Votes = 149418

For. I oppose the limit and would vote to overturn the bill.
49.52 %

Against. I support the limit and would vote to uphold the bill.
50.31 %

Unsure. I haven’t decided yet.
0.155 %

The irony is that they don’t really know how much of an impact FReepers are having in swining the poll results.

They’re BLAMING us for it, but cannot prove a thing.

They don’t and can’t know that the results could very well be legitimate.

Just how many voting precincts checked in with over 100% of Republican votes again? Oh, yea—those were Democrats voting with the usual fraudulent addresses and dead people.

So they’re doing it over? 49.22 yes to 50.61 no, now. As if the DUmmies don’t do the same. DUmp on a poll, lol.

Heh. The poll’s still active, apparently, just to the right of the article. A “yes” vote for overturning in 2014 is a vote against the ban and for your Second Amendment right.

An organized effort to influence results of an online poll is called "freeping." The name is a nod to an online forum called the Free Republic, whose members are called "freepers." They're notorious for pushing results of online polls in one direction or another — notably on Second Amendment issues.

We skewed their poll? lol Take a look at this...

The Denver comPost waited until the poll got down to 53% then closed it. Your thread effectively documents their manipulative behavior. Thanks!

Post Poll - Overturn Gun Bill?

Hi there. Probably 1st and last post on your forum. Ran across it during a search. Looks like the poll is still going. But has suddenly gotten close. ?????? Here it is:

It’s worse than that! Something looked funny, and due to a lack of desire to sleep, I started tracking. Basically someone has hacked it and are adding an average of 26 votes per minute to the “keep the ban” column. And this is with it no longer being on the front page. I have screen shots and a nice Excel SS if anyone wants to see. If they don’t stop it by 06:00 Colorado time it should be around ~29,000.

Poll at the Denver Post on the proposed Magazine Ban.

There is the FR thread on the DP poll which documents their manipulation of the poll. See this post and the one that follows by someone who signed up just to give us a heads up on the behind the scenes manipulation of the poll.

The Denver Post is lying!

"Basically someone has hacked it and are adding an average of 26 votes per minute to the 'keep the ban' column," one freeper lamented.

That wasn't really a FReeper. As I posted above that was someone who signed up to provide evidence that the poll was hacked.
