The human face of Obamacare’s broken promises

**SNIP**

As the controversial law passes its third anniversary, and as the Obama administration struggles to get a whole new national health care system up and running by next January, a visible sign of the law’s economic costs is seen in the 12,000 pages of regulations to implement the law’s 2,801 pages of legalese. Printed out and stacked, that tower of paper stands seven feet tall. Laid end to end, it stretches for two and a half miles.

Rosemarie Battaglia, a senior citizen from Texas, is on Medicare Advantage. Last month, the Medicare agency issued regulations that will reduce her health benefits, starting April 1, by thousands of dollars every year. Because coverage costs are expected to increase on average by $2,235 a year, Mrs. Battaglia has postponed her retirement indefinitely.

Hugh Joyce, owner of the 150-employee James River Air Conditioning in Richmond, Virginia, recently told the Washington Post that his insurer has warned him to expect an 18 percent spike in his company’s health insurance premiums next year. Why? To help pay for Obamacare.

I visited the Mexican Baja in the winter. Across the street where I was waiting for my guide was a building surrounded by a large crowd. I asked the guide what they were waiting for. He said, that’s the free hospital. All the medical is free here. It’s always crowded like that. In the summer when it’s 120 degrees they send out gurneys every hour to collect the dead. Apparently, the crowd was the emergency room overflow. The power elites (whose family my guide belonged to) had a separate much larger and nicer hospital. He showed it to me. There were no crowds. Treatment was also free. But they weren’t doing any keyhole surgery. An operation here that would have you back at work in a day here would cut you open and might take a year to recover from. But it was free.

Fellow FReepers, we ain’t seen nuthin’ yet. Get ready. It’s gonna be big and it’s gonna be loud but in the end it’ll be mostly nothing. nobama has outsmarted himself and designed a behemoth that couldn’t be implemented in 15-20 years, let alone by next year.

Some say, well, this is just a put up to get to single payer faster. Single payer is less complicated than nobamacare, but it would still take at least 10 years to implement.

Once again, you act as though you are an expert, but are clueless when it comes to impact assessment.

There is a high standard here at freerepublic for those that act as though they are experts. Your comments are way below that standard. You simply act knowledgeable and spew false notions as though they are fact.

“...In the end it will be mostly nothing...”

Dream on.

“...nobama has outsmarted himself and designed a behemoth that couldn’t be implemented in 15-20 years, let alone by next year.”

Huh? If you think government is going to wait 15 - 20 years to exercise the power over you that they’ve been given, you are sadly mistaken. Heck, major portions are already in place impacting millions of citizens.

It is hard to reconcile your statements with fact. I post this to urge you to research before you further misrepresent the truth.

Have you ever worked as a government contractor for the Feds on a project the size of nobamacare or HIPAA?

My concern is that implementation is not the goal here. I believe the goal is a failure to implement, forever remain a moving target no one can kill. Create bitterness and a sense of futility throughout the nation that will lead to despair and death. That may be a bit on the dramatic side but that is what SIN would do. That’s the path it always follows.
