Full Title:

Army general fired over charges of alcohol and sexual misconduct as military cleans out corruption in its African Command

An Army major general with the U.S. Africa Command has been relieved of his post in connection with alcohol and sexual misconduct charges, defense officials said.

Officials said Maj. Gen. Ralph Baker, commander of the Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa, was fired from his command last Thursday, and he was fined a portion of his pay by Gen. Carter Ham, head of U.S. Africa Command, after an administrative hearing and review.

The officials said Thursday that Ham lost confidence in Baker's ability to command.

Baker has appealed the administrative action to Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel.

Baker's removal as well as the recent dismissal of former four-star general Kip Ward have led some to speculate that the African Command is cleaning house.

Sexual misconduct must have been with women, if he had sex with a man they would have promoted him.

Army general fired over charges of alcohol and sexual misconduct as military cleans out corruption in its African Command

Baker is one in a string of general officers who have been reprimanded or investigated for possible sexual misconduct.

"Ralph, you're doing an awesome job."
"Thank you, Mr. President."
"I just have one more question: If necessary, would you be willing to order your troops to fire on American citizens who were engaged in peaceful protest?"
"Well ... uhhhhhh ... Mr. President ... I ... uhhhh, no, Sir. I couldn't do that."
"Well, Ralph, due to your alcohol and sexual misconduct, I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask you to step down."

Good grief at this rate there won’t be any military leaders left...oh wait. That’s the plan. Valkyrie comes to mind.

If this isn’t culling for BO’s Muslim Brotherhood take over then he has to accept the fact that he is the worst CIC to ever be in the White House since his military leaders are obviously not disciplined nor doing their jobs.

BO is responsible either way for this purge. IMHO

Wow, all of a sudden we’ve got a lot of “incompetent” general officers. How come this never happened before the Obama Administration?

I have heard Gen Ham is a good man. However, we must realize we have no Gens. who have real combat command at platoon and company level.

I for one am glad we’re firing Generals. The Military has become like a large University in many respects. You get “tenure”, and then are immune from consequences for bad behavior or decisions.

See the attached article. $900 MILLION dollars of unnecessary parts sitting in some warehouse. Who’s getting fired? The Military makes tons of bad decisions, and tons of bad business decisions, and there need to be consequences.

I don’t see how that’s possible...VN, Grenada, Iraq, Afghanistan all offered hands on experience but I don’t know their career paths so maybe they did college, OCS and a desk job.

Gen. Carter Ham? Why does that name ring little alarm bell in my mind? Was he involved in the atrocious decision to stand down and NOT send help; or was he involved in “relieving” (firing) another officer who was attempting to send help during the Benghazi massacre, or am I confused?

Bingo, Tuck.

Boozing, Bimbo-Hunter Baker was one of those countermanded for ordering help to the Benghazi people when TSHTF. Buh-Bye, Baker. Word is Barry Bit of Boozer himself, but he somehow IS CIC.

BTW, Speaking of African screw-ups, was Reggie Love on the ME jaunt?

O’Reilly is an Obama-pal, a fervent osculator of The Mombasa MF’s gluteal region.

"Wow, all of a sudden we’ve got a lot of “incompetent” general officers. "

Throughout U.S. history, probably the same everywhere, incompetence has been more the rule rather than the exception.

That's the subject of Thomas Rick's recent book The Generals which is a compelling and riveting read.

During WWII, “Sixteen Army division commanders were relieved for cause, out of a total of 155 officers who commanded Army divisions in combat during the war. At least five corps commanders also were relieved for cause.”

The roster of losers is long; the list of heroes pretty short. Eisenhower was quite the exemplar, Matthew B. Ridgeway a battlefield hero, Leslie Groves a technocrat genius, maybe a handful of others.

Ike was a tactical disaster, which he conclusively proved first in North Africa, he also managed a disaster or two in Europe.. He was however, a model diplomat and a team player who could keep lots of egos more or less pointed in the same direction. He also tended to tolerate inept generals a lot longer than was good for him.

IMNVHO, He was a true hero in his service to our country, but not so much on the battlefield
