There is not a single VN GEN in the Army. MG Bargewell was the last. Those who have been in Afgan and Iraq as LT’s and CPT’s are not Gen’s yet. A CPT who is promoted to Major usually has almost 10 years of commissioned service. Add another 5 to LTC on average, then another 5 to Full Colonel and maybe a real lucky O-5 who made BDE CO makes BG in 5 years. We have not been fighting this for 15 years yet. Also, senior CPT’s are usually in some BN or BDE staff job as they commanded a rifle company earlier.
Watch them to be replaced with Hasan types. To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if he got released and promoted one day. Face it, we've laid the welcome mat out for our enemies.
Kip WEard is black. Baker is a token "get even" whitey firing.
Thanks for the explanation. It’s hard to imagine a General with no war experience but we had Clinton and now BO as CIC with none either. I miss the days when a POTUS had to have military service.
