A local group of gun rights supporters has passed the initial hurdle in an effort to recall state Sen. Angela Giron.
Victor Head said his group, Pueblo Freedom and Rights, won the Colorado Secretary of State Office's approval of its petition forms calling for Giron's recall.
Now Head has 60 days to collect up to 11,500 signatures from Pueblo and Pueblo West voters to trigger a recall election.
The group will target gun stores.
"All of the gun stores will be our main areas," Head said. "There will be petitions there so people can stop by and sign them."
He said the group also plans to have a booth set up during Saturday's Tanner Gun Show.
According to the petition: "Senator Giron has betrayed the trust of her constituents, her oath to uphold the Second Amendment and the rights of gun owners by voting yes on multiple gun control measures as chair of the Senate State Affairs Committee and in the general body of the Senate."

Pueblo isn’t like Colorado Springs (an hour north) or Denver. It’s pretty static and hasn’t changed much in sixty years. They used to have an airport...with around twenty flights a day. But that ended in the 1990s, and the last time I checked...it was two flights a day going up to Denver. The yuppie generation hasn’t arrived there yet and when they do...they will find it absolutely locked into the Reagan-era.
Here’s the list of the rest of the traitors:
Democrat Representative Claire Levy
Democrat Representative Rhonda Fields
Democrat Senator Morgan Carroll
Democrat Senator Evie Hudak
Democrat Representative Beth McCann
Democrat Senator Lois Tochtrop
Democrat Representative Jenise May
Democrat Representative Lois Court
Democrat Senator Rollie Heath
Democrat Senator Mary Hodge
Democrat Senator John Morse
Democrat Senator Jessie Ulibarri
Democrat Senator Irene Aguilar
Democrat Senator Lucia Guzman
Democrat Senator Angela Giron
Democrat Senator Gail Schwartz
Democrat Senator John Kefalas
Democrat Senator Jeanne Nicholson
Democrat Senator Matt Jones
Democrat Senator Cheri Jahn
Democrat Senator Andy Kerr
Democrat Senator Linda Newell
Democrat Senator Nancy Todd
Democrat Senator Pat Steadman
Democrat Senator Michael Johnston
The only one I can sign the recall petition against is the little SOB Ulibarri.
Pueblo is a democrat area, but not in the sense of the Boulder/Al Gore/Unabomber wing that has taken over Colorado. It is blue collar and latino (not immigrant). This should be much better in terms of supporting the second amendment.
Good luck, Colorado. They got into office by the ballot box, so send them packing via the people. I hope this turns into a national campaign as a push back to the left. This is a good thing Colorado you are doing.
Thanks lowbridge.
Oh, yeah! I look forward to their political demise.
I hope they get the needed signatures and that a true conservative will beat the tar out of the sitting senator.
I agree. Giron sticks out like a sore thumb as for the most part as those Dem reps that represented the Pueblo area voted against the anti-constitutional, 2nd amendment legislation. Must be the blue collar Dems vs. the whine and cheese Boulder crowd Dems.
Yesturday they were getting signatures for the Morse recall at Paradise Sales Firearms and another store, and talker Jeff Crank on KVOR was giving it a lot of advertisement. ;-)
Just to bump the thread another time ...this makes it 4 active Colorado recalls against the CO DUmmies. ;-)
Absolutely. A phone call from Biteme won't be much comfort come Nov. 2014. A lot of gun owners have been sleeping since the AWB was not renewed in 2003. I think they're awake now.
Larry Pratt, head of Gun Owners of America, will speak at a $50 per ticket event at CJs Diner, and later will give a free speech at the Durango Community Recreation Center.
on Wednesday for a fundraiser in support of the recall against Rep. Mike McLachlan, D-Durango.
Tickets to the Pratt event at CJs Diner, 810 E. College Dr., cost $50, and proceeds will go to the San Juan Freedom Defense Fund, the campaign that is working to recall McLachlan. Tickets are available through Saleh at Dave@recallmikemclachlan.com. After the 4:30 p.m. dinner, Pratt will speak at the rec center at 6:30 p.m.
Colorado Ping ( Let me know if you wish to be added or removed from the list.)
Thanks George
