Gun group moves to recall state senator (Colorado)

A local group of gun rights supporters has passed the initial hurdle in an effort to recall state Sen. Angela Giron.

Victor Head said his group, Pueblo Freedom and Rights, won the Colorado Secretary of State Office's approval of its petition forms calling for Giron's recall.

Now Head has 60 days to collect up to 11,500 signatures from Pueblo and Pueblo West voters to trigger a recall election.

The group will target gun stores.

"All of the gun stores will be our main areas," Head said. "There will be petitions there so people can stop by and sign them."

He said the group also plans to have a booth set up during Saturday's Tanner Gun Show.

According to the petition: "Senator Giron has betrayed the trust of her constituents, her oath to uphold the Second Amendment and the rights of gun owners by voting yes on multiple gun control measures as chair of the Senate State Affairs Committee and in the general body of the Senate."

Pueblo isn’t like Colorado Springs (an hour north) or Denver. It’s pretty static and hasn’t changed much in sixty years. They used to have an airport...with around twenty flights a day. But that ended in the 1990s, and the last time I checked...it was two flights a day going up to Denver. The yuppie generation hasn’t arrived there yet and when they do...they will find it absolutely locked into the Reagan-era.

Pueblo is a democrat area, but not in the sense of the Boulder/Al Gore/Unabomber wing that has taken over Colorado. It is blue collar and latino (not immigrant). This should be much better in terms of supporting the second amendment.

Good luck, Colorado. They got into office by the ballot box, so send them packing via the people. I hope this turns into a national campaign as a push back to the left. This is a good thing Colorado you are doing.

It's a start and I pray that recalls become infectious. It's a very effective
way for hard working tax paying citizens to fight back against those who
ignore their oath of office. Primarily those who ignore the Constitution.

Nice to see that even Pueblo is getting in on the act. I hope that at least a couple of these recalls are successful in their goals. Regardless, they will at least be successful in growing the grass roots of Conservatives as well as turn some Democrats that just didn't know any better. They also serve to purpose of letting the One’s true believers in office know that there will be consequences for their actions even if they did get a phone call from Biden. It will force the Democrats to spend money as well as damage their fund raising efforts. It's a win, win no matter what and even sweeter if the recalls get these clowns out of office and ruin their political careers.

I hope they get the needed signatures and that a true conservative will beat the tar out of the sitting senator.

I agree. Giron sticks out like a sore thumb as for the most part as those Dem reps that represented the Pueblo area voted against the anti-constitutional, 2nd amendment legislation. Must be the blue collar Dems vs. the whine and cheese Boulder crowd Dems.

Yesturday they were getting signatures for the Morse recall at Paradise Sales Firearms and another store, and talker Jeff Crank on KVOR was giving it a lot of advertisement. ;-)

Absolutely. A phone call from Biteme won't be much comfort come Nov. 2014. A lot of gun owners have been sleeping since the AWB was not renewed in 2003. I think they're awake now.
