On Monday 4/15/2013 Two bombs explode near the finish line of the Boston marathon, killing three and wounding nearly 180.
On Thursday 4/18/2013 the FBI released marginal pictures, images and video of two men suspected of involvement in the attacks, appealing to the public to help identify them.
It seems clear now, the FBI were unable to ID the suspects, so they went public on 4/18/2013.
Within hours a campus police officer is shot to death.
However, within a very short time after the news conference, possibly less than an hour or so, the FBI then released near perfect images. In fact, they were frontal, easily identifiable, near perfect closeup images of the two suspects.
If you recall, directly after the news conference the FBI and media made it clear the FBI had much better images/video of the suspects. We've all seen them now, they are near perfect frontal images of the suspects
If this is all in fact true, it begs the question: Why did they not release these high quality frontal face images/video during the news conference when they appealed to the public for help identifying the suspect?
This seems a bit odd.
It looked like the photos pinned to the easels in the press conference, when they released the blurred pictures to the public, were much clearer. I have no idea why they would not want to release the best photos that they had. What I don’t understand is why they did not use facial recognition software to compare the photos taken at the Marathon, with the photos already on file with the US government. The younger terrorist is a US Citizen, so he has to have at least a passport photo in a database. The older terrorist was under some kind of suspicion in 2011, so you would assume that he would have his picture on file as well. Does LE not have the capability to access it’s own database of photos? It just does not make sense!
He uploaded them to the FBI and Friday morning??
I don't recall them saying someone gave us a big tip.
It would be interesting to learn the number and density of calls that originated from near where the terrorists lived and hanged out versus all of Boston and regional areas such as Providence and Nashua.
I would say the short guy = the short guy, and the one with the yellow stripe is probably taking the group photo. The one in the grey jacket looks like the dishrag in the very back of the group.
I don’t think the guy behind white hat is the brother in that picture. I have a high res picture that shows he has a red armed jacket. He also looks Oriental like the woman next to him. Shape of his face doesn’t match.
In fact, it will be interesting to find out:
1. Exactly when did the FBI obtained the video? I would suspect within hours of the bombing.
2. When did the FBI determined which people in the crowd were the suspects? I would bet that night after the bombing.
3. How long did they wait to go public for help in identifying the suspects?
If they waited 2 1/2 days, why did they wait so long? Would the police officer still be alive if they had gone to the public for help earlier?
From the second link -
In 1995, al Qaeda setup a camp in Chechnyaordered by Osama bin Ladento train international terrorists to carry out plots against Americans and westerners. Bin Laden liked Chechens because they were Caucasian, and thus would more easily blend into Western populations than Arab jihadists. Chechens are also known for their militant adherence to Islamic jihad
Bin Laden himself used Chechens as his personal bodyguards.
Why has everyone ruled out more than 2 bombers or more than 1 team of bombers?
Covering his own arze?
BINGO..so why did they need help from the public? It’s because they didn’t want the public to find out so quickly that they already knew who this guy was and screwed up by not detaining him in 2011!
And, they wanted to divert from the Saudi connection as best they can? I can’t shake the thought that there were more people involved than just these two brothers. And, I can’t shake the thought that the Saudi kid that is being deported is connected.
They waited til Obama skipped town to release anything. That part irritates me to no end
Was there not a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the perpetrators of the Boston Marathon bombings?
Did this person or persons who tipped off the FBI receive the reward? Maybe I missed it.
