Repeat of "In-Depth" with Melanie Phillips tonight on C-Span2

This month's "In-Depth" featured writer Melanie Phillips and will be repeated tonight at Midnight EDT on C-Span2. Three hours of interesting commentary and replies to viewers by a wise and thoughtful woman who, for example, provides a spot-on defense of traditional marriage as being a "unique fusing" of two individuals which is necessary for society because it is the way "we produce humanity", yet partially blames traditional marriage for the current drive for gay-marriage because it has become merely a contractual, legal arrangement in many people's minds. Phillips is concerned with facts, but even more with how facts get hidden and distorted to result in some of the bizarre notions about today. She says, "the more people seem to idealize their intellect and to believe that they're intellectually superior, the more divorced from reality they seem to become". Great viewing.

No opportunity to submit your own questions, since this will be a repeat of this afternoon's program, but I predict you'll love Phillips' demolition of a "warmist" (to use her term) who insists that "97% of the top 200 climate scientists support man-made global warming" and her more delicate put-dowm of a dinosaur liberal who claims that there's "no left" in this country because McCarthy destroyed them all, and that the only voices of hatred and intolerance to be heard here are on the right. Worth setting the DVR/VCR for at the late hour scheduled.......

They have most of their programs archived at their web site - C-Span.org - not sure if this one this there yet or not but it probably will be eventually......
