Benghazi Scandal Will Be Obama's Watergate, Huckabee Believes
Christian Post ^ | 05/06/2013 | Napp Nazworth

President Barack Obama will be unable to finish his second term due to the Benghazi scandal, media personality and former presidential candidate Mike Huckabee expects.

The prediction came Monday during his radio show, "The Mike Huckabee Show."

"I believe that before it's all over, this president will not fill out his full term. I know that puts me on a limb," he said, according to Politico. "But this is not minor. It wasn't minor when Richard Nixon lied to the American people and worked with those in his administration to cover-up what really happened in Watergate. But, I remind you – as bad as Watergate was, because it broke the trust between the president and the people, no one died. This is more serious because four Americans did, in fact, die."

This Wednesday, at least three whistle blowers are set to testify before a Republican-led U.S. House committee. They will present evidence that the Obama administration failed to respond quickly to the September 11, 2012 attack on a U.S. diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya that led to the deaths of four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens. They will also present evidence that the administration purposely misled when it blamed the attack on a YouTube video and said it arose out of a spontaneous demonstration.

One of those testifying will be Greg Hicks, who served under Chris Stevens. Hicks was not in Libya during the attack, but was in contact with Stevens as the attack was taking place.

Hicks' "story is totally at variance with what some American officials were saying in public on this broadcast five days after the attack," veteran CBS journalist Bob Schieffer said Sunday on "Face the Nation." "The administration claimed the attack grew out of a spontaneous demonstration provoked by protests in Egypt. Greg Hicks told investigators that was simply not true."

Huckabee said that the Benghazi scandal "goes all the way to the heart of the integrity of the United States government."

"When a president lies to the American people and is part of a cover-up, he cannot continue to govern," Huckabee added. "And as the facts come out, I think we're going to see something startling. And before it's over, I don't think this president will finish his term unless somehow they can delay it in Congress past the next three and a half years."

A third part of the scandal has to do with the denial of additional security by the Obama administration for U.S. officials stationed in Libya. Then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton claimed in January that she was unaware that requests, by Stevens and other top officials, were denied. Republican investigators, though, found that Clinton had signed off on a plan to reduce the number of security personnel in Libya. Administration officials counter that many State Department documents bear the secretary's signature, but she does not see all of them.

It does. There are plenty of journalists out to ‘speak truth to power’ (and some lies) ... just only when the “powerful” have an (R) beside their names.

The days of pretending to be unbiased and intellectual honesty in journalism are long gone.

Doesn’t make any difference if the media covers for The One. As long as the government checks keep flowing nothing will change. Getting “free stuff” is more important than blatant corruption and malfeasance.

Absolutely right. You got to hit the low information voter right in his/her fuzzy wuzzy bleeping heart.

And then I’d punch back at the White House by flying the bereaved parents around in a 747 with a mock presidential seal on the fuselage.

Where is Dick Tuck when you need him?

“In 1968, Tuck utilized Republican nominee Nixon’s own campaign slogan against him; he hired a very pregnant African-American woman to wander around a Nixon rally in a predominantly white area, wearing a T-shirt that said, “Nixon’s the One!”

Gets you thinking about pulling that on the current The One.

Oh that it were not so. However, you are correct.

What ever happened to the concept of Constitutional fealty?

The press has a job to do by being a watchdog of government.

Sadly, they have turned into lap dogs.

de·feat·ism (d -f t z m). n. Acceptance of or resignation to the prospect of defeat.

I am so tired of seeing good decent Freepers with this DEFEATIST attitude. People are FINALLY asking questions and getting answers about Benghazi and all you can do is MOAN??!

I'm THRILLED that Tyrone S. Woods, Glen Doherty, Sean Smith and J. Christopher Stevens are getting some small justice. ANY fact discovery is better than nothing. And even if there is no chance of getting Obama/Clinton removed from office it is no excuse for not supporting Huckabee, Issa, Gowdy or anyone else that is PUSHING the issue.

My spirit is not close to broken and there is still plenty of fight left in me. I'm all for hanging this black cloud of death and deciet all over Obama and Clinton until the day they die (Just like Hanoi Jane!). And I look ahead to the day I can visit the Obama presidential library with my children and tell them all about America's worst president and our darkest days.

Of course thats just my opinion and I accept that you may not agree with me. Its ok if you have given up and are resigned to bitterly accept the borg-like advancement of Obama's regime muttering, "why bother, resistance is futile". But thats not me.

I say TAKE IT TO THEM! I'll be the chick shouting "BENGHAZI!" at Hillary's campaign rally.

Yeah the Huckster was big on ignoring prosecutors and parole boards and pardoning violent criminals - because he had a hunch they were born again.

If Nixon had been smart enough to buy off nearly half the population with food stamps and goodies, he would have died in office.

Watergate for Nixon is different from a Watergate for Obama with all his MSM protection.

Huckleberry has morphed into Knucklehead. Did he even take a gander at the party affiliation of the alleged president he is talking about? Impeachment? Dummy please.

With a Republican House and Senate, a Democrat President who had committed felony perjury in a sexual harassment matter, and who had demeaned his office by having sex with interns in the White House, and who had strong evidence of rape and sexual harassment of other women, could not be impeached. The effort was laughed out of the Senate, and the press turned it somehow into a negative for Republicans.

Try it against the messiah and a much more partisan press than before, and a weaker group of Republicans who don't even control the Senate, and anyone who thinks they could get rid of Obama is exposing a real lack of intelligence. Which is just confirming what we have known all along about Huckleberry. Good man, lots of bad ideas, not too bright.

Our ruling class installed this fraud at their whim. The implicit threat of racial violence has kept him in power despite his obvious fraudulent history and ineligibility. Our ruling class must be changed; Barry the Fraud is just a symptom of it.

Because of Huckleberry’s tenacity in demanding justice, Zero will easily finish his second term as the UN designated best president in history.

During the hearing, will the Republicans use their time to make speeches? Will they allow the Dems to STEAL THE SHOW?

The Repubs better damn well THOROUGHLY INTERROGATE THE WITNESSES SO OBAMA'S AND HILLARY'S LIES BECOME KNOWN TO ALL.

Good point. It might be worth it just so that when we DO go down, at least we can go down laughing. ;-)

You nailed it. There's a fine line between describing realistically the obstacles that we face and total surrender.

Most posters on this thread have crossed it.

Hillary and Obama would read this thread and smile.

The only way for any of this to matter is to get Harry Reid to care about it. The only way Reid is going to care is if it looks like Obie is going to cost him his Majority Leader position.

Rarry Heid is looking @ errosion or extraction for his sorry @$$ job. And with that said, Bengazi may not go Impeachment, but I see the Pubbies employing a slow drip on this, every couple of months until 2014.

Again I say, I don't want McConnell as Majority Leader, he is so pass-a already please, and if we do we need a Coup in our ranks, can you say Majority Leader Lee?

However a 51-49 or 50-50 Senate in Rarry Hieds favor is his worst flippin nightmare, as it makes Oboingo the lamest of lame ducks between 2014 & 2016, and that is a beautiful thing...
