Tom Coburn Unloads On Harry Reid: 'Dishonest, Not Truthful, Failure'
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 05/09/2013 6:53:42 AM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest

By the end of Tom Coburn's Morning Joe appearance today, a panel member could be heard, off-camera, whistling in astonishment.

Not surprising, since the plain-talking Republican Senator from Oklahoma had just unloaded on Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. Coburn called Reid "dishonest" in his dealings with him, saying that Reid was "not truthful" and had "not kept his word." For good measure, Coburn added that Reid had been a "failure" as Majority Leader.

Exactly how long have you been in the Senate? And after all that time, and sitting through and witnessing the multitude of lies, demogoguery, vile, and denigrating bilge spewed forth by this sub-human perversion from Nevada, YOU'RE JUST GETTING THIS NOW?! IDIOT!!!

This is exactly how you deal with Democrats. They are vicious, venal and totally committed to winning at all costs, and will used any tactic to get their way.

In order to win at anything you have to be tougher and smarter than your opponent. IMO Republicans need recognize this truism and start slugging it out with Dems. Don’t just stand your ground, go on offense. Like all bullies, the Dems will cower when confronted.

I disagree. Harry Reid is not "a nice guy"!

Harry Reid is a twisted traitor with the moral fiber of a skunk.

Tom Coburn is likely to be the next Senator to join the Cruz-Paul-Lee leadership.

The first step is a public expression against tyranical modern liberalism.

It would be really good to have him back on the team. Coburn used to be my favorite Senator, but Cruz/Lee/Paul have outperformed him while he was trying to “play fair” with Shmucky Shumer

Just watched this video The morning Joe clip posted.

Coburn : “Harry Read is a nice guy I like him, but I ...’

He is trying to keep his A rating from The morning Joe Joe and Mika.

On the video; “Harry Reid is a nice guy and I like him...” should have been left out of his comments.

NO, Cloddie. He’s not just getting this NOW. He’s been on it all the time, which you’d know if you’d kept up with Mr. Coburn. This is just the first opportunity he’s had to express his opinion about Reid after trying to work out somethings that Reid lied about. And you should be careful who you call an idiot.

Let’s not pile on to our side when they finally start showing some sort of sense. We should encourage the good behavior and slap down the bad. I’m guessing that more have been, and will be, a bit more outspoken due to the new-age solid leadership of the Ted Cruz sort...Let’s start asking more of the natural cowards to stand up like men and emulate the real men - it might catch on.

Harry Reid is not a “failure.” He’s gotten exactly what he wants. Power. Leadership. Tons of pork. And he rules the Senate with a rod of iron. For that matter, he rules the country, because Obama is far too lazy to bother with any of the details.

So, he’s wrecking the country? What difference does it make? Why should he care?

I chalk up Senator Coburn’s “Aha!” moment to the “Cruz Effect”.

Nice try, OK partisan. But no cookie.

Coburn’s gone wobbly on us more than a couple times. I guess those ‘rat parties and yachts are a powerful drug to a simple doctor boy from the OK sticks.

He needs to get back on the straight and narrow RIGHT NOW!

This is a step in the right direction though.

And you should be careful who you call an idiot.

And maybe Tom Coburn should speak more carefully when in the same breath he can call Reid "a liar" and then turn around and call him "a nice guy - I like him"

Really? What's to like about a liar?

Both statements cannot be true.

Phony niceties are as false an any lie and expressing them is never a trait any real conservative should exhibit.

Do you agree?

FReegards!
