IRS Warned Employees Not to Target 501(c)4 Donors in 2011
Breitbart ^

Posted on 05/13/2013 5:31:14 AM PDT by Perdogg

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) admitted on May 10 that “low level” staff in its Cincinnati office, supposedly “not motivated by political bias,” targeted 75 conservative tax-exempt organizations, including many Tea Party organizations applying for exemption under Section 501(c)4 of the tax code. The groups were singled out for audit and investigation because they used the names “Tea Party” and “Patriot.” Yet in July 2011, the IRS had warned employees to drop audits of donors to similar 501(c)4 organizations.

I want those employees subpoenaed by Congress, and before they testify, make it very clear what will happen if they lie.

I don’t believe they did it on their own. If they insist they did, fire them.

Its a hate crime , a violation of the Civil Rights Act. The IRS also was instructed to BOTL for Jewish Organizations as well. based on race.

A special prosecutor needs to be appointed.

Democrats tend to gravitate towards government jobs because of their ideology.

They also love the idea of not being accountable and being promoted based on their ideology.

This sounds like the question leading up to Nicholson’s famouse speech in “a few good men”....tell me Colonel, If you gave an order that Santiago wasn’t to be touched, and your orders are always followed, then why would he be indanger, why would it be necessary to transfer him off the base?

On in this case, why would the IRS issue orders to not target certain 501’s and then have some low level guys do what they wanted to do?

USPS does essentially the same work in evaluating the qualification of nonprofit mailers for special rates.

In general the employees are GS12 and above (equivalent ~ since USPS has its own paygrade structure).

These are not folks at the bottom of the federal heap ~ probably have college degrees, several years experience, can read and write well, audit your returns ~ that'd be part of their experience package, and could likely run a business.

What they are not is APPOINTEES. What I'd like to know is what sort of 'low level' the big dogs in DC are referring to. Do they mean, perhaps, the Regional Director? Now he'd be an appointee, but low level only in reference to the guys in DC.

Fur Shur he or she was not a clerk typist, or file clerk, or custodian!

My aunt and uncle (God rest their souls) were IRS and Postal employees, respectively, and they were staunch democrats. They had a kind of pride of being on the right side of humanity, that the forces they worked for was the power to right societal wrongs. They had this kind of pride, just like you see democrats in DC today, their’s is the righteous power to mold and make the little people behave as they think best. Obama is using the IRS to lord it over the rest of us... make no mistake, his acorn people will be driving the IRS bulldozer by next year... Obamacare will plough America under.

Maybe yes, maybe no. Government employees are among the Dems biggest supporters and donors. Government unions for public employees almost always endorse Dem candidates.

Is it any wonder that Nuland and Kennedy, career employees in the State Department, defended the WH and Hillary? We may have reached the point where career employees are decidedly partisan and will use the power of government to further political interests.

I have no doubt that the political appointees set the tone, but I doubt the career employees had to be forced to do their bidding. Something is changing. I say that as someone who worked for the federal government for 36 years.

Low level IRS employee:GS 12 and beow...
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Nope: It was not a spontaneous outpouring against conservatism at the G12 level:

“The investigation also revealed that a high-ranking IRS official knew as early as mid-2011 that conservative groups were being inappropriately targeted—nearly a year before then-IRS Commissioner Douglas Shulman told a congressional committee the agency wasn’t targeting conservative groups.”

See Wall Street Journal “Wider Problems at the IRS.”:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3018642/posts

The indications are that the WHite House insisted on BOTL ( be on the outlook) guidelines as required by the Obama Campaign and its fascist administration.

This BOTL was also done against Jewish Groups, clearly a Hate Crime Violation of the Civil Rights Act.

Special Prosecutor Needed. I vote for Tom DeLay.

I hope somebody follows the form used to question the organization. In the Government all forms used must go through an approval process. It is given a number. Did these forms have that number? If so, than a reviewer would have to have approved it and that reviewer would be at a high level. Regardless, who created the form? That might give some input into the whole who dunnit!

Yup. This SHOULD be big.

Will Holder prosecute the IRS?

(Sorry, we know the answer on that one...)

The 75 organizations ought to individually sue the IRS and Holder (if he fails to prosecute.)

You are missing my point. These "low-level employees" don't have to be forced to undertake what they know is illegal and against IRS regulations. They are willingly doing them. No whistleblower or resistance to whoever is issuing these directives.

Of course the Obama administration is behind it, but I firmly believe that career civil service employees have taken sides. This is far more ominous than just political pressure from above. I say this from personal experience.

Of course the unionized employees will fight against anyone talking about lower taxes and smaller gov’t, because that means less workers and wages for them. I used to work in a public employee union office and they would do anything to bring down anyone that was friendly to taxpayers.

There are many managers in the government who have, in fact, come from the private sector where they ran businesses.

The typical Postmaster General is usually a businessman ~ my favorite was Bobby Tisch ~ gave me more pay raises than I can count. Klassen wasn't too bad in that regard either. Sometimes you have a career government employee ~ our best Postmaster General in a century was Bill Bolger.

These folks all have subordinates, and many of them come from business and industry, some from the government, some from inside USPS ~ and all the way down.

My immediate boss for over a decade had been at USPS then went out to IBM and then came back ~ supposed to have given him some fresh ideas.

The average age of entry into a federal government job is 35, not 19 as in the private sector.

IRS commissioner to all employees:

As much as I hate the tea party groups and think they should be given a full body cavity search of an audit, under no circumstances do I want any IRS agent to do that.

Furthermore, as much as I would like to promote any IRS agent harrassing repulicans or conservatives, I want to be perfectly clear that this agency will severely frown on any of these actions.

There are probably TENS OF THOUSANDS of organizations with the precise terminology sought out by the auditor. You did know that at the moment there's a sort of 'disinformation' routine at work that's confounding '527 organizations' with 501(c)4 and 501(C)3.

Depending on what lie they want to tell, their response will be that, 'oh, no, that was in that other group where it's OK'.

This has already happened.

The other element of confusion ~ purposely fostered by the Obama regime ~ is whether or not these 'audits' involved audits of currently active new applications for filing status, or audits of previously approved applications!

BIG DIFFERENCE THERE!

Prepare for more lies.

I"m going to guess this is really about a quite ordinary and recurring audit process imposed by Treasury Department itself, not internal to IRS, and someone diddled with it a bit to focus on organizations of interest only to him and his buddies in the Democrat party campaign machinery.

That way the 'low level' employees would not realize what was going on.

BTW, people who process large numbers of applications over time develop expertise in the types of groups, so you might have an employee who always does Baptist churches, and another who does Colleges and Universities, yet someone else who does Hobby Clubs, or organizations with a chapter structure. Nothing unusual in that ~ which is why a 'low level' employee actually doing the reviews would not necessarily detect wrong doing by a higher level gub'mnt agent dictating which cases were going to be subject to review.

And again, from Obama's perspective even a Regional Director is a 'low level employee'

Colleen was a 'revenue agent' ~ which means she probably had no relationship whatsoever with the people who approve various organizations for tax exemption or special consideration. I suspect none of the people doing that sort of work belong to the National Treasury Union since they're simply not at the bargaining unit level.

No special sort needs to be done internally. In fact, Soetaro hissef’ can access this through the privacy of his own BlackBerry! ~~~~ ANYBODY CAN DO IT!!!!
