The Nine Lies of Lois Lerner
National Review ^ | 5/16/2013 | Kevin Williamson

Posted on 05/16/2013 6:52:33 AM PDT by Servant of the Cross

Lie No. 1: Lois Lerner’s apology last Friday was a spontaneous reaction to an unexpected question from an unknown audience member. In fact, the question came from tax lawyer and lobbyist Celia Roady. Ms. Roady has some interesting career highlights: She was part of the 1997 ethics investigation of Newt Gingrich, but, more to the point, she was appointed to the IRS’s Advisory Council on Tax-Exempt and Government Entities by IRS commissioner Douglas Shulman. She is a longtime colleague of Lerner, who is director of tax-exempt organizations. Ms. Roady has declined to comment on whether her question was planted, but it obviously was. The IRS had contacted reporters and encouraged them beforehand to attend the otherwise un-newsworthy event, and it had an entire team of press handlers on hand. So what we have is the staged rollout of what turns out to be — given the rest of this list — a disinformation campaign.

Lie No. 2: Lerner said about 280 organizations were given extra scrutiny, about 75 of them tea-party groups or similar organizations. The actual number of organizations that were targeted is closer to 500.

Lie No. 3: This was the work of low-level grunts in Cincinnati. In truth, very senior people within the IRS, including its top lawyer, were aware of the situation, and had been since at least 2011. The home office in Washington was very much involved in the process.

Lie No. 4: Lerner says that the situation came to her attention through allegations from tea-party groups carried in media reports. In fact, the matter has been under both internal and external investigation for some time.

Lie No. 5: Lerner says she put an end to the practice as soon as she found out about it. In fact, the IRS continued to do precisely the same thing, only monkeying a little bit with the language: Instead of targeting “tea party” groups explicitly, it targeted those groups with an interest in such esoterica as limited government, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, etc.

Lie No. 6: She says that the commissioner of the IRS didn’t know about the targeting project. While the targeting was going on, Ms. Lerner’s boss was being asked some very pointed questions by Congress on the subject of targeting tea-party groups. He enthusiastically denied that any such thing was going on, in direct contravention of the facts. Ms. Lerner says he didn’t know about the situation, because it was confined to those aforementioned plebs in Cincinnati. But given that this was not the case, her explaining away the commissioner’s untrue statements to Congress is a lie based on another lie — a compound lie, if you will. And acting commissioner Steven Miller was briefed on the situation in May of 2012 — and then declined to share his knowledge of it with Congress when asked about it during a hearing in July.

Lie No. 7: Lerner says she came forward with her apology unprompted by any special consideration. In fact, an inspector general’s report was about to be released, making the matter public.

Lie No. 8: When Congress was investigating complaints from conservative groups, Lerner told them that she could not release information about organizations with pending applications. But her group was in fact releasing such information — to the left-leaning news organization ProPublica, rather than to congressional investigators.

Lie No. 9: Lerner says that there was no political pressure to investigate tea-party groups. In fact, Senator Carl Levin (D., Mich.) repeatedly pressed the agency to investigate conservative groups falling under Lerner’s jurisdiction. What we have, then, is this: Under a Democratic administration, the IRS was under pressure from Democratic elected officials to investigate political enemies of the Democratic party. The agency did so. Its commissioner lied to Congress about its doing so. When the inspector general’s report was about to make these abuses public, the agency staged a classic Washington Friday news rollout at a sleepy American Bar Association tax-law conference, hoping to minimize the bad publicity. Lerner lied to the public about the nature, scope, and extent of the IRS intimidation campaign.

That she has a job today is a scandal in itself. She’ll be receiving an award — for public service! — from the Western New England University School of Law on May 18. An orange jumpsuit would suit her better than academic robes.

Bring Lois Lerner before the bright lights of a Congressional Committee and discuss an orange jumpsuit.

She'll spill all the beans on who ordered what, methinks.

Senator Carl Levin (D) Michigan has already been outed as being a driver in this outrage. He needs to be dragged out of his office- TODAY- and summarily stripped of his citizenship. Then he needs be frog-marched to the nearest dock and given a size ten forward assist into the ocean. And if he tries to set foot on American soil, he should be shot for attempting to enter the country illegally.

...As does every stinkin' player in this outrage, from the top down.

A tenth lie - homing on Tea Party groups was a way to streamline a large increase in applications.

IRS Rationale for Tea Party Scandal Is Debunked by Data

Applications for tax exemption from advocacy nonprofits had not yet spiked when the Internal Revenue Service began using what it admits was inappropriate scrutiny of conservative groups in 2010.

In fact, applications were declining, data show.

Top IRS officials have been saying that a “significant increase” in applications from advocacy groups seeking tax-exempt status spurred its Cincinnati office in 2010 to filter those requests by using such politically loaded phrases as “Tea Party,” “patriots,” and “9/12.”

Both Steven Miller, the agency’s acting commissioner until he stepped down Wednesday, and Lois Lerner, director of the agency’s exempt-organization division, have said over the past week that IRS officials started the scrutiny after observing a surge in applications for status as 501(c)(4) “social welfare” groups. Both officials cited an increase from about 1,500 applications in 2010 and to nearly 3,500 in 2012. President Obama ask Mr. Miller to resign on Wednesday.

The scrutiny began, however, in March 2010, before an uptick could have been observed, according to data contained in the audit released Tuesday from the Treasury Department’s inspector general for tax administration.

The number of 501(c)(4) applications for all of 2010 was actually less than in 2009.

No major Obama administration figure has spilled “all the beans” on Obama.

They are as loyal to him as the Hitler Youth, SS and Gestapo were to Hitler, Goering, Himmler and Eichmann.

This loyalty does not just “border” on “total loyalty”, it borders on “fanatically insane loyalty”. This mental condition is, like most of those in Jonestown (to marxist Jim Jones), and the Heavensgate members, way beyond “loyalty”.

It is the most extreme form of “fanaticism” around, something you find today in the communist guerrilla movements in Peru, the soldiers/leaders of North Korea and some in Syria, those loyal to the old Khmer Rouge remnants now in power in Cambodia (Hun Sen), the Lords Army in Uganda and similar groups in the Congo, those who support marxist Mugabe in Zimbabwe, and the communist/thugs who surround Putin and the Red Chinese dictatorship.

I’ve dealt with fanatics all my adult life, and I have never seen such sacrificial devotion to Obama, (aka, The Messiah, The Chosen One, The God-King, Comrade Obama (more than you will ever know - Axelrod, Jarrett, Pfoule, Messina, Carney) and “He Who Will Make the Oceans Go Lower”.

These nuts included John Holdren (now gone), Salazar (the little powerhungry Napoleon from Colorado, evil Jean Sebelius, the Wicked Witch of Kansas, Janet Napolitano of weak mind but great ambition, John “Xmas in Cambodia” Kerry, who “left a man behind” as well as sold out to the communists in Paris; Susan Rice the Clueless, Cheryl Miller, apparently the Hatchetwoman of the Administration, and every major commentator at MSLSD.

Saved Eric Holder for last. THe most racist, fanatical reparationist, psychopath in the administration. He has been building up to this extreme mental pathology since he was a US District Attorney in DC under Clinton (the Weathermen/girls pardons, the marxist terrorist FALN pardons, the criminal Marc Rich pardon, etc).

He is directily responsible for the mass murders of “Fast and Furious”, increasingly fingered for the IRS illegal activities re tax exempt organizations, the surveillance of the media esp. AP, and no one knows what, if any, his role in the Benghazi massacre/coverup was.

He is today’s equivalent of the Nazi judges who sent thousands of innocent German citizens to their deaths in order to seize their assets or to eliminate them from the political scene, all at the request of Hitler. There is a wacko Egyptian sitting in a California jail who the administration has blamed for the Benghazi attacks. Holder put him there. Nuff said.

In other words, Holder is “the Good German” of today. Seig Heil, Herr Holder, you’ve earned this appellation. I know something about the SS, Gestapo and Hitler’s policies as my whole European family was either shot in Lemberg, or sent on trains to the death camps of Belzec and Auschwitz. That same stench is in the air today and it eminates from the White House, the Dept. of Justice (add in Tom Perez too), and from some members of Congress (Conyers the Red, Water the crazy red, Schakowsky another red, Pelosi the insane, Boxer more insane, Reid, totally insane and powermad, and many others).

If you just look at who Obama has had in his Administration in key positions, and assume that they all abandoned ship in the middle of the Atlantic, you would find that all the oceans of the world had been permanently poisoned.

This is a True Bill of Indictments of the Obama Regime. Now let’s hope that decent congressmen and women (the number is getting smaller every day), take the proper action and work to get rid of these Obama scum, put as many of them as they can in jail (at least for perjury if not “High Crimes and Misdemeanors”, and clean up Congress before it is too late.

My family didn’t fight on Iwo Jima, work in Vietnam, or liberate Iraq just to have a bunch of Marxists and Political-Power Madmen and women obtain power and take over the US in order to “transform” it into a marxist shithole.

Time for our honest politicians (getting to be more of an oxymoron every day) to stand up for America and take her back from the authoritarians ruining it now!

No, Lois 'only' got $42K in bonuses. The bigger fish you refer to is Mz. Ingram who got the $100K in bonuses and now already runs IRS/0bamacare.
