Gov. Perry: I Cannot Support Lackluster Immigration Bill [Includes Video]
Newsmax ^ | Thursday, May 16, 2013 | By Bill Hoffmann and Kathleen Walter

There is no way Texas Gov. Rick Perry can support the bipartisan immigration reform bill because, he says, it fails to deal satisfactorily with border security.

"You cannot have a legitimate conversation about immigration reform until you deal with the issue of border security. And, as far as I'm concerned, this bill does not address it,'' Perry told Newsmax TV in an exclusive interview.

Standing strong on immigration and border security is what we need right now...not amnesty!

Glad to hear it Rick. Perhaps now you will abandon your no fence BS and rejoin people who love America.

I hope so, too, Norm! It’s gotten nearly to the point of no return.

Why we continue to discuss border security as if it were a novel idea, is beyond me.

Are we certain that we are an autonomous nation or should we ask the UN to verify this?

We passed that point a long time ago, friend.

Pretty sure he’s against it. I’m not a real amnesty expert but everything that I’ve read indicates that.

Ricardo Perro Caliente needs to stiffen up his own position in fact. As far as I know he prefers Mexican kids in the seats in Texas universities to having American kids there. He’s never successfully clarified that position.

Implement the enforcement component of the 1986 law!!!!!!!!!!

That enforcement component...???

Not to mention reversing taxpayer funded in state tuition giveaways to illegals. Have a heart for legitimate Texans, Rick.

So many liberal positions and yet people still defend the freaking fraud as a right wing conservative.

On a bunch of issues like energy/getting fedgov out of landuse/ he’s great. On the immigration thing he hands out ‘rights’ and bennies like candy to invaders and more conservative frauds line up to defend it.

I am sick to death of this crap. And for the people claiming he’s conservative, explain his giveaways or sit silently until you can prove he doesn’t really do that.

I don’t particularly care about the “amnesty” aspect, because I don’t think there’s any other way to make people declare themselves. They’re already here, so examine them and if they’re not harmful to the US, let them stay. We have the information. Heck, tell the IRS they’re Tea Partiers and we’ll have the results of their latest colonoscopy on the desk tomorrow!

But, seriously, make sure they’re not harmful to the US. No criminals, none of Obama’s buds on the terrorist watch list, etc. Unfortunately, the Obama government will send back the Mexican gardeners and let the wealth Saudi jihadis stay...

However, the big problem is that people think of the “border” as relating only to Mexico. But every international airport is the border, and most of the terrorists who have struck us or tried to strike us have come in over those “borders” and, furthermore, most have come in legally. They may have stayed on illegally, but the problem is that we are not even controlling a very controllable border (the airports) well.

So yes, we do need to think about better border control, but we’ve got to think beyond Mexico.

Coming from a guy who supports Amnesty (he signed the TX bill giving in state college tuition to illegal aliens).....this bill must truly have some major problems

I was thinking more along the lines of “securing the border.”

So....they mostly all stay & are made legal. With chain immigration & family reuification we are looking at between 30 to 50 million people flooding the USA from the third world in the next 25 years. You think that’s ok ?
