New DOE chief insists climate change 'not debatable'
Sacramento Bee ^ | May. 28, 2013 | RUSSELL MCLENDON

Physicist Ernest Moniz was sworn in last week as U.S. Energy secretary, and wasted little time laying out his priorities. Along with a major speech on energy efficiency, as well as pronouncements about nuclear power and natural gas, he issued a blunt warning to any opponents or obfuscators of climate science: The jig is up.

"Let me make it very clear that there is no ambiguity in terms of the scientific basis calling for a prudent response on climate change," he told a crowd of Energy Department employees May 21 following his swearing-in ceremony at DOE headquarters.

"I am not interested in debating what is not debatable," he added, echoing a recent survey published in the journal Environmental Research Letters ( http://www.mnn.com/earth-matters/climate-weather/blogs/study-97-of-scientists-agree-on-climate-change ) that found 97 percent of climate scientists agree about manmade global warming. "There is plenty to debate as we try to move forward on our climate agenda."

Moniz called clean energy and climate change his top policy priorities, citing them as "the real driver of my coming back" to the DOE, where he served as undersecretary in the 1990s. "We want to build on what was done by Secretary (Steven) Chu, who really changed the face of energy technology innovation at the Department of Energy," he said.

Interesting last sentence in the first paragraph of this story that apparently deals with NASA.

This new appointee is clearly a mental midget posing as a learned scholar. Where does the exalted one find these treasures to further muck up our lives? This one appears to have become stuck to the sole of Obama's shoe. This specimen even looks incredibly stupid.

Some dull specimens of the scientific community want us to believe that the Earth is several billion years old, and then that same gaggle cherry picks the last 150 years to tell us how drastically things are changing.

This evil Obama regime has got to go! Before we know it Obozo will edict that it is a federal crime to contradict the regime's stand on gorebal warming.

I always find it interesting when a so-called “scientist” finds something that is not debatable.

Essentially, they create religious dogma. And, of course, any debate about established religious dogma is heresy against doctrine.

While that is perfectly OK in matters dealing with the creator of the universe, declarations of heresy in matters dealing with the universe He created somehow seems...anti-intellectual.

I realize that there’s no chance of ever getting rid of DOE, IRS, et. al. but couldn’t they at least pick leaders who weren’t ridiculous?

Another one typical of the biggest problem the Obama regime has ~ NO ONE with talent will work for the guy!

Actually, maybe he's not that typical ~ he seems to have not heard of the scientific method. I'd do a body search on this guy before he gets in for a visit to the White House. May well be carrying a private stash of some kind.

“This specimen even looks incredibly stupid.”

LOL! What’s that old 60’s song with the lyric, ‘are you a boy or a girl?” That’s what I’m thinking when looking at its pic. :)

No debate! Everyone must bow down and accept what I say, or else the full weight of government will be brought to bear against you.

Stuff it you fascist loser!

This has got to be the most stupid looking loony yet in this phony president’s entourage.

Apparently he was barfed up during the infamous Clinton administration. He resembles my late great aunt Minnie.

This guy has spent his whole life on the take - joined faculty at MIT in 1973 after graduating HS in 1962; the time between was spent getting his education. He is probably a smart guy, but he has always been either on the receiving end or the delivering end of the education establishment.

Since many of the political animals believe that something as stupid as climate change isn’t debatable, it’s just as intelligent to say that those agencies you list are likely to be sunk.

America is tired of a central socialist government populated by complete morons. Since our constitution has been torn asunder and filed away I believe there’s a good chance that this onerous monster could be toppled.

Exactly. While allegedly touting the scientific method, once it gets near to their dogma, they suddenly ban it.

He doesn’t want to debate it because he knows he will lose. He’ll just stick with the idea that a tornado in Kansas is the result of some Mexican azzhole in California driving a 65 Impala.

How can someone who appears deranged and utters gobbledygook be considered a ‘smart guy’?

I believe that anyone who spouts the gorebal warming bullshit is a certifiable nut case, or is making money from junk science hand over fist!

Nothing is more dangerous than ignorance propelled by good intentions or a scientist with a closed mind.

Looks like it’s going to be another bumpy ride.

And they keep telling us that a scientist with a closed mind is an oxymoron, too . . . while their “scientists” have the most closed minds of any, worse than a political priesthood.

The jig is up.

Does he mean Obama is in the White Hut or that Obama is not passed out somewhere like during the Benghazi raid?

Sounds kind of racist.

Article should be titled, "Obama Appoints Another Larcenous Loser".

They can be done away with... they were signed into law by EO and they can be destroyed by the stroke of a pen. Elect the right person as President and it can be done.
