The enviro-food stamp-LGBT crowd loved him and still do. But I agree he had potential to be great, but he would have had to fundamentally transform himself. Imagine our country having a good black POTUS. Like a black friend of mine says, he was the right color, but the wrong guy.
I knew he was a Marxist before he ran for Senate. BUT- some conservatives just resigned to praying that Obama would become something better with time and experience.

People are forgetting that this government has identified Tea Partiers, gun control advocates and other conservatives as “terrorists”. When we read that the phone spying efforts were aimed at rooting out terrorists and their networks, I do not think that the government thinks that “terrorist” means what we think it means. I think that they wanted to monitor US calling patterns to identify conservatives and their allies.
I hated everything he said and stood for, and knew he wouldn’t get better, only worse. They probably already have me on their database as a right-wing extremist Jewish settler terrorist and a bitter clinger. I wonder when the first undercover operative will try to entrap me. Will I let him know I’m on to him, or just lead him a merry chase (Oh, no! Now they know my plans! Aieeeee!)?
