But that's ok. You elected them, so you should trust them not to impose tyranny. And even if they do become tyrants, it's for your own good. And even if it's not for your own good, it might be fun. Don't knock tyranny if you haven't tried it. The founders were wrong. Obama is right. He'll make all your trains run on time and keep records of who gets on and off and where./s

I look for a bipartisan circling of the wagons to continue. They have virtually all voted for it, year after year.

Impossible to explain this given that THEY WEAPONIZED,
WARFARIZED, and FUNDED TERRORISTS from Fast&Furious,
to Libyan MANPADs4alQaeda, to Benghazi.

And THAT is the “tip of the iceberg” of their
systematic treason against the US Constitution that they
purported “swore” on their Koran’s to uphold.

Most people don't understand the principles of OPSEC. They don't put together how PII collected from various sources can be merged to produce a very powerful personal profile on an individual.

IMO, this is the desired government endstate of all this data collection. Nothing good can come of it.

I hope someone outside the NSA is able to be briefed on the people who have been read into this system.

Of course he is going to defend it. This guy pisses off millions of Armed Americans, in the most horrific ways, and he is obsessed with the idea that he is going to be assassinated. He believes Americans are terrorists, who won’t let the communists and Muslims take over peacefully.

We knew this.

I don’t understand why he doesn’t take his millions and go buy an island, and slip away peacefully.

He IS terrorized, by his own fears. What kind of life is that? WHY would he waste his life.

When he was first elected, people didn’t like him so much, and were worried about his socialism, but even conservatives had hope for him, that he could really rise up, like the American dream. He could have been the greatest president in the history of the world.

Instead he will live the rest of his life in fear.

For what?

I bet not one mosque is being checked, NO, just innocent Americans. If they have been doing this for years why didn’t they know about the Tsarnaevs and the other guy they shot? Why did the FBI ask the public for help if they were checking phones and the internet? Why didn’t they know about Hassan? This is BULL! They are checking to see how many enemies obama has and what they’ve been saying about him.

What makes them believe that we think they are checking for terrorist activity when they can’t figure out where obama was on 9-11-2012 and what happened in Benghazi. WE ARE NOT STUPID!

"The President has put in place an organization with the kind of database that no one has ever seen before in life,” “That database will have information about everything on every individual on ways that it’s never been done before”. - Rep. Maxine Waters Feb 2013

Clapper added that the government was "prohibited from indiscriminately sifting through the telephony metadata acquired under the program.” All information acquired, he said, “ is subject to strict, court-imposed restrictions on review and handling.”

Oh, that's right, this Administration follows the law....< / s >

People are forgetting that this government has identified Tea Partiers, gun control advocates and other conservatives as “terrorists”. When we read that the phone spying efforts were aimed at rooting out terrorists and their networks, I do not think that the government thinks that “terrorist” means what we think it means. I think that they wanted to monitor US calling patterns to identify conservatives and their allies.
