Can Congress Vote On Immigration Reform Before Its Vacation? (Amnesty before Aug 5th?)

The clock is ticking for immigration reform. On Tuesday, President Obama urged Congress to move quickly on the sweeping reform bill the Senate began debating this week.

-snip-

The House is scheduled to be in session for just 16 days following the July 4 holiday before lawmakers begin their month-long vacation on August 5th. House Speaker John Boehner has said he hopes the House can vote before then.

Reform advocates worry that if a bill isn’t passed before August, opponents might marshal intense opposition to it in the media and at lawmakers’ town hall meetings, just as they did with Obama’s health care plan in the summer of 2009, which threatened to derail that bill. Ornstein thinks immigration reform could survive Congress’s recess, but that the delay would make passage more difficult.

Congress is full of lazy B@$t@|~ds.

They need to complete all legislation to the point where the bureaucrats have no latitude to add thier own regulations.

I’m willing to listen to any immigration reforms as long as legalization/amnesty is not part of the proposal.

Boehner can hardly wait to knife the Conservatives in the back on immigration so that he can “cut a deal” with Obama.

Why is Congress voting on immigration issues in the first place? Regardless of PC interpretations of the Constitution's Clause 4 of Section 8 of Article I, the uniform rule of naturalization clause, at least one historical constitutional expert, Thomas Jefferson, had noted, in terms of the 10th Amendment nonetheless, that the states have never delegated to Congress via the Constitution the specific power to address immigration issues.
"4. _Resolved_, That alien friends are under the jurisdiction and protection of the laws of the State wherein they are: that no power over them has been delegated to the United States, nor prohibited to the individual States, distinct from their power over citizens. And it being true as a general principle, and one of the amendments to the Constitution having also declared, that "the powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people," the act of the Congress of the United States, passed on the -- day of July, 1798, intituled "An Act concerning aliens," which assumes powers over alien friends, not delegated by the Constitution, is not law, but is altogether void, and of no force (emphasis added)." --Thomas Jefferson, Draft of the Kentucky Resolutions - October 1798.

Need to rush to pass the amnesty bill before Republicans figure out that Rubio and Ryan have been lying to them about the amnesty bill.

If they pass it before their vacations, I bet they stay far, far away from their districts and head overseas.

They will be protested if this passes. I hope some offices....................................have lots and lots of protest, peaceful—tea party peaceful, not ocutard peaceful.

HEY, NSA, that’s NOT a threat.

Here’s the plan...

What’s going to happen in the next few weeks, possibly by July 4th, the Senate will pass the amnesty bill.
At the same time the House is going to pass a Trojan horse bill that will sound good and that will secure the borders.
The problem with that is
they’re both going to be sent to conference committee,
where amnesty is going to be added to the Trojan horse bill.
The Senate will vote yes on final passage and send it to the House.
Led by Nancy Pelosi, the House Democrats will ALL vote for the bill
because it will assure permanent Democratic political majority,
and a few Republican committee chairs will provide the final votes needed for passage.
That way the president will have amnesty for illegals
and the country will be fast-tracked to permanent progressivism.

Contact your congresscritters and let them know YOU know. Alert all the people you can to do the same.
